Ref: MP180-87 Main Purpose of the Job: The Senior Manager’s profile reflects the level of experience and knowledge gained through the completion of a number of projects. The focus of the role will be: • Lead and manage the processes associated with delivering the project to the requisite Health and Safety, Time, Cost and Quality standards; • Provide Leadership and decisive direction for the delivery function of the Celebration Park Project, across the various project functions including but not limited to risk, change, reporting, environment and sustainability; • Manage the initial engagement of the DCSC with the current site incumbents; • Site engagement with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth transition from operational facility to construction facility; • Provide site based Client PM direction to drive DCSC and Contractor performance; • Engage as part of the PMC Health and Safety Leadership forum to define and implement significant improvements in Health and Safety on site; • Support the Commercial Team with administration of the Contract [dependent on DCSC role]; • Act as principle point of contact between Client and Engineer/Contractor. Key Responsibilities/ Duties: The Senior Project Management role should actively manage and hold overall responsibility for major projects and should be able to contribute and be experienced in all aspects of the project delivery. Key areas of responsibility include: • Full participation in - strategic planning; - project appraisal; and - project evaluation. • Manage and monitor all aspects of the project including; - cost management; - value management; - risk management; - logistics management; - safety management; - quality management; - project delivery; - M&E management; and - Environmental/sustainability management. Lead key project decisions including; - risk assessment; - strategic brief preparation; - brief preparation/development; - procurement; and - building commissioning. Skills/Knowledge/Experience required: • Excellent knowledge of Construction Projects’ legal framework including: - safety regulations; - statutory requirements; - local rules and regulations; and - contracts/insurances/commercial awareness. • Excellent understanding of key project processes including: - procurement; - construction; - design principles/processes; and - design management. • Excellent communication skills and client understanding. • Experience in coordinating multiple parties. • Ability to meet deadlines, no exceptions – “Completer Finisher” attributes. • Team oriented. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to facilitate meetings and also to support mediation discussions. • Excellent construction industry awareness [trends and issues] • Financial literacy Interpersonal Skills: • Excellent People management skills. • Ability to work well in Teams and provide clear cohesive direction and leadership. • Natural abilities in coaching & soliciting information. • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work closely with peers and external customers. • Ability to motivate and impart knowledge. • Ability to work to tight deadlines. • Commercial awareness in a rapidly changing sector. • Flexibility to changing requirements. Preferred Candidate: • Proven capabilities to lead teams; • Proven capabilities to deliver works to time and budget • Excellent knowledge of Safety and Quality standards with a focus on continued improvement. • Programme / Project Management Skills. • Excellent knowledge of Building Construction. • Good knowledge of Prince 2 or equivalent. • Member of a recognised Professional Organisation: APM or equivalent.
