Ref: KP633-964 One of the UAE’s most respected automotive businesses is looking to recruit a Group IT Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful, profitable and experienced management team. Responsibilities • Develops, implements and manages IT initiatives to align them with long-term Group/BU strategy (e.g. increase the utilisation of IT assets). This includes discussing and identifying various business needs in conjunction with BU and SS heads to incorporate their requirements in the IT strategic planning process. • Participates proactively in group level committee meetings to provide a future direction to the business and arrive at strategic decisions to fulfill business needs. This includes participating in external exhibitions and public addresses to enhance Group image and brand awareness IT Governance. • Provides leadership and organisational structures/processes to ensure Group IT is aligned with and is an extension of the organisation’s strategies and objectives • Establishes Service level agreements (SLAs) between IT and business to achieve set service objectives. • This includes collaborating with BU Managers to analyze and document processes and workflow, preparing plans to improve the software development process and consolidating/ upgrading servers and establishing consistent hardware/ software standards to eliminate an unstable, highly mixed operating environment. • Manages the successful implementation of all plans and initiatives to ensure compliance with industry standards and set company policies and procedures. Resource Management • Analyses the business as well as industry trends to optimize IT expenditures and resource utilization and enhance productivity. • Manages and controls various projects to achieve project goals as per the agreed time frames, cost and business scope. • Develops and maintains the annual operating and capital budgets to control cost within the set budgets. • Seeks, reviews and analyses proposals from vendors, consultants and suppliers and selects the most appropriate partners, to negotiate optimum commercial and technical deals. This includes negotiating all IT acquisition contracts to ensure installation of sustainable and cost efficient infrastructure. • Oversees Vendor execution of contractual obligations and periodically renews/reviews maintenance contracts with vendor to ensure the service delivery standards are met • Risk Management. • Develops business continuity plans and initiatives (e.g. disaster recovery planning) to ensure minimal disruption to business operations • Prepares information security policies and procedures framework to minimise information security and data leakage incidence. This involves putting mitigation controls and tools (i.e. application systems) in place. • Works closely and coordinates with the Group Risk and Audit Department to identify, prioritise and allay different IT and business risks. • Operational Management. • Develops Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related, technical and non-technical • documentation to maintain an IT knowledge library for the Group • Reports achievement of objectives outlined in the SLA to management to facilitate measuring of performance. • Participates in various management committee meetings to streamline all IT and business operations and issues. People Management. • Ensures the team follows the established value system for the department to adopt a code of conduct and maintain work ethic and professionalism standards • Directs, guides and motivates team to achieve departmental goals. This includes providing support in day-to day activities of the team to develop capabilities and enhance professional knowledge. • Conducts internal quality groups to enhance team collaboration and knowledge sharing. Apart from this, organises internal and external training to improve skills and develop high potential team members with a view to succession planning. • Conducts regular team meetings to discuss progress, provide feedback on performance and resolve issues if any. • The job holder manages a gamut of IT functions (such as data centre management, application development, technical support) which involve dealing with internal customers i.e. CEOs/GMs/BU Heads and external suppliers and service providers. In this context, he/she is posed with challenges such as: 1) • Dynamic nature of the IT industry 2) Flexibility to accommodate requirements of different industries or market trends. • The job holder will be required to conduct intensive and continuous research, provide innovative solutions and propose strategic initiatives. He/she must keep abreast with state of the art technology and sophisticated IT systems and infrastructure. Forward planning will be carried out on a monthly basis, at functional as well as operational level. Decision Making: • The job holder will work with substantial autonomy with regard to setting budgets and allocating resources. He will also be required to research, evaluate and make decisions with regard to IT acquisition, however final approval on the department budget and purchase of non-budgeted items will be given as per the authority matrix. • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology • Have an excellent understanding and knowledge of the IT domain and evolving technology trends • Have strong knowledge of ERP systems • Sound understanding of Business Intelligence and Data warehousing • Have the ability to align the business with evolving technology through a long-term view and innovation • Have the ability to think analytically and make sound judgement • Have the ability to lead the team to deliver high standards of quality and customer service under tight deadlines • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; Arabic would be an added advantage • Excellent PC skills • Minimum 7-8 years of relevant experience gained through a progressive career path within highly reputed establishments / organisations, 3-4 years of which must be in a similar role within the retail environment • Strategic Orientation • Have commercial Awareness • Result Oriented • Capable of decision making • Change Management • Be able to motivate and energize others • Team Development • Effective Communication • Empowerment • Entrepreneurship Aspiriti Recruitment is the leading automotive and transport (bus and rail) industry recruitment specialistfocusing on the Middle East, African and European markets.
