Ref: KP633-965 One the UAE’s most respected Automotive Groups in currently looking for an Group Marketing Manager to join their team. The job holder has full executive responsibility for providing leadership and direction in planning and implementing marketing strategies and business plans across the Group to ensure suitable representation of the Company name and its business units’ brands, continuous growth of market share and high return on marketing investments. The key purpose of this role is to acquire new customers and retain existing ones to ensure Group’s sustainability. Marketing activities include market research, advertising (above and below the line), public relations, social media, corporate social responsibility, sponsorships, event management and customer relationship management including CSI measuring and loyalty initiatives. • Establishes and reviews the Marketing functional strategy and policies ensuring alignment with overall Group business strategy and plan. • Ensures appropriate review and refinement of plans based on market trends, database analysis and principals’ standards to maximize performance. • Develops annual Marketing plan for the Group and individual companies, ensuring alignment with overall Group strategy and business plan. Also ensures time and resource allocation for proper execution and achievement of approved plan. • Clearly defines strategic goals and objectives for each business unit ensuring alignment with the principals’ plans where applicable as well as the overall Marketing strategy of the group. Ensures full involvement and engagement of department managers for effective planning • Develops individual product strategies to ensure alignment with Group Business strategies and leads inter-departmental discussions to finalize the same • Studies, develops, and deploys best approaches, methodology and practices in all areas of marketing ensuring efficient achievement of results and alignment with market best practices. • Continuously evaluates strategies and plans. Recommends changes in the Marketing philosophy and policy when such changes serve in the best interests of the Group • Defines risk and opportunities through SWOT analysis and subsequently creating plans to exploit potential and mitigate risk. • Continuously, challenges existing policies and practices related to customer facing business processes and recommends best practices based on industry benchmarks and customers feedback to enhance customers’ experience and increase customers’ loyalty with the Group and its brands Financial Management • Manages the Marketing Department budget to ensure it is in line with the Group’s financial plans. • Manage the Marketing budget of the various business units to ensure that activities are planned cost effectively, spending is in line with Group’s and principals’ standards and maximum Return on Investment (ROI) is generated Operations • Initiates and manages cross-selling opportunities for the group’s business to maximize revenues from shared customers and return on marketing investment. • Develops and oversees the management of Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) surveys implemented. • Provides guidance to Business Units to improve CSI score to enhance customer satisfaction to increase customer loyalty and eventually reduce marketing spending. • Ensures that latest technology infrastructure is appropriately utilized throughout marketing strategies and activities in order to maximize the ROI • Ensure activities and initiatives related to internal communication are effectively managed and executed to enhance working relationships between top management and employees and also ensure that key messages are effectively cascaded. • Ensures that implementation and communication of CSR programs to generate internal and external awareness on the Group’s CSR efforts is effectively managed in order to engage staff and customers Policies and Procedures • Ensures Group and principals’ policies and procedures are appropriately cascaded and implemented throughout the department. This includes ensuring actions of all line managers/supervisors and employees are in compliance and also provides guidance in interpreting those policies • Continuously updates the department’s SOP’s, operational policies and procedures and its technical infrastructure (as and when necessary) to ensure processes are clearly defined and effectively communicated. Relationship Management • Represents the Company in the industry related sessions/committee meetings, associations, formal functions at national level • Develops and maintains strategic network with senior contacts in local market to remain abreast with latest market trends and technology for effective adoption • Assimilates complex issues and uses appropriate communication strategies to influence wide and diverse range of audiences ranging from the Group’s executive management to the Board of Directors, government officials to the business partners. • Maintains strong relationships with strategically important media channels to ensure that the reputation of the Group and its companies is positive portrayed at all time and also to seek exposure opportunities • Actively seeks partnerships opportunities that enhance the group’s image in the community and at the same time present commercial opportunities i.e. with banks, government bodies, Schools etc. • Closely coordinates with the Board Members, Executive Directors, CEOs, Shared Service Department/BU Heads and other family members related to the business and other spokespersons to unify key messages and ensure PR strategy and its policies are strictly adhered to. People Management • Builds and maintains a high performance culture by providing clear leadership, direction and support. • Monitors, coaches and counsels where necessary enabling employees to accomplish their goals and objectives efficiently. Also ensures that employees remain abreast with business outlook. • Conducts training needs analysis. Creates and ensures implementation of training programs. • Evaluates training results for presence of a skilled, productive and motivated workforce throughout the function for efficient achievement of targets. • Manages resources in line with strategic priorities and by actively participating in manpower planning and recruitment activities. Operating Environment: • The job holder manages a gamut of Marketing functions including market research, advertising, public relations, social media, corporate social responsibility, brand building, sponsorships, and event management and Customer Relationship Management across the Group. • The Group caters to a heterogeneous customer base, therefore multiple marketing and advertising channel management across all industry sectors is critical to maximize customer acquisition and retention. The job holder is therefore, required to conduct intensive and continuous research, provide innovative solutions and propose strategic initiatives to support a profitable and sustainable growth. The jobholder should develop a strong understanding of the overall Group’s strategy, objectives and activities as well as individual Company/BU objectives to ensure successful formulation and execution of marketing, advertising and other activities related to customer relationship management. • She/he must remain updated with state of the art technology and latest marketing, advertising trends. • Forward planning of at least 3 year is essential to manage resources and efficiently achieve the Group’s strategy and objectives. Decision Making: • The job holder is a strategic partner responsible for driving key initiatives through people. She/he will formulate strategies, functional policies and approaches for the Department ensuring alignment with the overall corporate goals and strategy. • The job holder takes a broad view of issues, events and should have an understanding of their longer term impact and/or wider implication. The job holder is responsible to ensure optimal utilization of available resources. • The Job holder will exercises authority in determining working style within which the department will operate and achieve goals and objectives. • She/he will manage business performance and budget overruns through monthly performance meetings. • He / she will develop sophisticated management KPI reporting tools to effectively manage the department. Monthly reporting to Executive Board on department’s performance – across all quantitative and qualitative areas.
