As part of the Project Management and Construction Management (PM/CM) Division based in Abu Dhabi, you will have overall responsibility for the progress of the design development in accordance with the Project Management and Construction Management Scope of Services. You will be heavily involved in bid and tender preparation, representing KEO in communications with the client, and managing the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of projects. As a Project Manager / Design Manager you will support the Project Director with the establishment of the project delivery strategy, planning, administration, schedule, cost control, management and coordination of all parties involved.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are able to demonstrate experience the following:
• Proven ability in managing the design work on large complex infrastructure and building projects through Concept, Preliminary and Final Design stages.
• Ensure a high quality service is delivered throughout the Project, whilst maintaining minimum standards in accordance with the Project Management scope of services.
• Thorough knowledge of design, production and construction techniques, procedures, codes, and standards.
• Preparing tender strategy; identifying qualified consultants, contractor and vendors; preparing and issuing RFP’s, evaluating proposals; negotiating contract terms/deliverables/payment schedules; and issuing recommendations to the client.
• Overseeing and guiding design consultants through the design process including conducting design reviews for completeness and constructability monitoring and verifying progress and timely submissions at all design phases.
• Advising the client on all matters pertaining to Programming, Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Working Drawings, Tender Documents, Tender Submittals and Evaluation.
• You will be responsible for Workshops, Progress Meetings and Design Management meetings and will be required to establish the methodology for ensuring the production of complete and approved design, tender and contract documentation. These should be in compliance with the approved Master Schedule prepared by the Program Management Team.
• Reviewing and monitoring project cost estimates, value engineering proposals and cost reconciliation.
• Developing and maintaining the risk management plan.
• Strong project management experience gained working for a top project management consultant
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or equivalent.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience and a successful track record managing design and construction of major projects.
• Previous work experience in the Middle East is preferred.
• Fluent in spoken and written English. Arabic communication skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
