Warehouse SupervisorFull-Time / Permanent £18,000 - £20,000 Per Annum WiganA major 3PL business actively looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor for their distribution centre in Wigan. This is a large scale, fast paced logistics operation, offering a competitive package and excellent career prospects for the right candidate. Purpose of the Role: You will be responsible for supervising all aspects of operations within a fast moving environment, being supported by a large team of shift managers covering this 24/7 operation.You will be tasked with collating information and enforcing best practise to achieve KPI's and maximise all resources to deliver the most cost effective solution.You will work with the Operations Manager to improve site performance through effective people management, and build relationships with the workforceYou will monitor KPI's and targets and plan operational resource. You will be responsible for training and recruitment within your team. You will contribute towards site and process improvement initiatives, maximise space utilisation within the warehouse, ensure efficient rotation of stock is achieved and monitor site and warehouse activity to ensure best utilisation of staff and equipment is achieved at all times.Principal Accountabilities: - Achieve budgeted profit performance target of the contracts under your control.- Develop and implement initiatives to both increase revenues and reduce the cost per unit processed.- Ensure high standards of Health and safety throughout the workplace ensuring risk assessments undertaken in a timely manner.- Understand client budgets and reporting of performance against those budgets. - Motivate staff to achieve high standards of performance. Measure and report KPI's on a weekly basis through effective use of Red Prairie.- Train and develop warehouse staff against a competency and training matrix ensuring they are developed to their full potential. Instill a culture of continuous improvement.- Ensure a high level of planning is undertaken on a weekly/monthly basis to ensure staffing levels are correct and costs optimised. Ensure staff are recruited/trained prior to peaks in volume levels.- Ensure all processes are documented for audit and training purposes. - Ensure a high level of stock accuracy through regular PI checks to client /external auditors requirements.- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction are achieved through the quality of services we provide and the pro-active and timeliness of our communications.Knowledge, Skills and Experience: You will have experience in a supervisory capacity of large scale operations ideally within a Fashion Logistics / E-Commerce environment.You will be PC literate with experience of WMS systems (preferably Red Prairie), have excellent coaching, influencing and communication skills and have a "Can Do" customer centric approach.You will be an excellent man-manager who leads by example and is able to adapt quickly and effectively to operational issues.You will be outgoing and personable, a supervisor who takes pride in their work and leads by example.
