Position:         Health Program Manager Reports to:        Country Director/Technical Specialist Location:         Based in Sana’a with travel to IMC Yemen field sites JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of the Health Program Manager (HPM) position is to assist in the implementing & monitoring of early recovery Health project in the Sana’a Governorate and designing new Health projects. The HPM will technically be supervised and directly reported by the International Medical Corps’ Country Director of Yemen / Technical Specialist.  This is a senior level post in IMC, and as such well qualified candidates can expect a compensation package in line with the seniority of the post Context and Background  International Medical Corps is anticipating funding for an emergency assistance project that will start in January. Through the Emergency Assistance to Vulnerable Populations in Yemen project, IMC will address health concerns and immediate malnutrition as well as underlying causes. Integration of health services and nutrition and hygiene interventions will be addressed in order to achieve maximum impact. Health activities will focus on building the capacity of the primary health care system to provide sustainable maternal and child health services as well as institutionalizing the WHO program on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI). Nutrition sector activities will focus on implementing a community based management of acute malnutrition program that includes the establishment of stabilization centers, outpatient therapeutic programs, management of moderate acute malnutrition, and community mobilization. WASH sector activities will focus on hygiene promotion, and health promotion/prevention for reduced transmission of major communicable diseases. Primary Responsibilities of this position: •    Under supervision of country director and technical specialist, provide oversight and management of program operations and staff. •    Design, implement, oversee health related trainings for health facility staff in targeted locations. •    Coordinate with Ministry of Public Health and Population to ensure timely and efficient implementation of program activities •    Establish or strengthen systems and standards for regular assessment, monitoring and evaluation of IMC projects to ensure timely and effective implementation as measured against project objectives and indicators. •    Assist in the design and streamlining of IMC data collection inclusive of analysis and reporting on data to highlight IMC’s program impact. •    Assist in the design and execution of quantitative surveys and other field-based research and studies and generate quality reports to inform project design and improve effectiveness of IMC activities. •    Assist in report preparation and writing for donors, HQ, and other recipients as necessary.  •    Assist program staff and Country Director with program development, including drafting of proposals and concept notes. •    Assist in the drafting of communications materials, including promotional material, situational reports, capability statements, and media pieces. •    Provide support to program staff as necessary in direct project implementation. •    Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications & Skills: •    Bachelor’s degree in medicine and/or social sciences required, Diploma or Master’s degree preferred •    At least 3 years project management experience  •    Previous experience working for an international NGO •    Strong organizational skills •    Ability to work independently •    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret administrative reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations •    Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently •    Ability to relate to and motivate staff effectively •    Ability and willingness to travel to project and assessment sites as needed •    Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field and HQ, counterparts, senior government leaders and other donors •    Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps •    International Medical Corps is an active member of the HAP network, all staff are expected to adhere the 6 benchmarks of the HAP standard in the process of completing their work   Application Process: To apply please send your application to : [email protected] NOTE: Applications for this job are not through Yemen HR website.
