INTERSOS is currently looking to recruit qualified national staff for the following position: GBV Activity Coordinator - Harad National Staff Position Reporting to Protection Coordinator Status Contract – full-time for 9 months Starting date Immediate The Activities Coordinator is responsible for overall coordination, under the supervision of the Protection Coordinator, in accordance with INTERSOS’ mandate, priorities and donor agreement. RESPONSIBLITIES: The GBV Coordinator is responsible for the timely and efficient implementation of the GBV activities in the 2014 project, to assist in the facilitation of the GBV Working Group and ensure a general overview of INTERSOS GBV interventions in the North for vulnerable populations. It is a high profile management position and a key team member for all protection issues related to GBV. 1. Regularly liaise with the 10 local associations (by phone, e-mail and monthly meeting), in order to monitor and support the planning of their protection activities; 2. Supervise the assistance and the referral provided by the associations to GBV survivors; 3. Revise and control the quality of the GBV Intake Forms and manage the GBVIMS; 4. Redact monthly activity reports, meeting minutes and other reports needed; 5. Ensure smooth coordination between the associations and INTERSOS, between the association and the GBV WG; 6. Plan the financial needs of the project of a weekly and monthly basis; 7. Manage responsibly and distribute the incentives to the local associations, collecting duly-filled financial documentation; 8. Supervise and support the associations in the set-up of the livelihood trainings and regularly monitor their progress during implementation; 9. Organize the monthly case management meetings and the participation of the focal points to the GBV WG; 10. Maintain a continuous overlook on GBV data, trends and GBV activities implemented by INTERSOS through its different interventions in the South; 11. Developing and maintaining working relations with relevant UN agencies and other inter-, intra- and non-governmental organizations in the area of responsibility with the view to integrate INTERSOS’ activities into comprehensive protection approaches in the area; 12. Maintaining positive and supportive relations with local government. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and experience: - Strong experience in a GBV-related position, including monitoring and prevention; - University degree in management, education, psychology, social sciences or other related discipline. Advanced university degree would be an advantage; - Relevant professional experience of not less than three (3) years, preferably at a coordinator or management level and/or in humanitarian context; - Prior experience with an international NGO; - Prior experience in working with or coordinating with other international humanitarian organizations or governmental authorities; - Familiarity with overall protection and protection concepts and principles; Skills and traits: - Excellent command of (written and spoken) Arabic and English; - Computer/IT literacy (Windows, MS Office, Internet etc.); - Excellent analysis and report writing; - Strong communication and organizational skills; - Excellent knowledge and understanding of local communities and customary rules; - Independence, i.e. conducting tasks with minimal supervision, and stress resilience; Application Process: Please send CV and Motivation letter to
