As our Buildings Division in Dubai continues to expand, we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual for an immediate permanent position of Geotechnical Engineer to provide support to project managers and other engineers in the delivery of maritime, water, rail, power, transportation, buildings, geotechnical and structural engineering designs This post is working as a Geotechnical Engineer, based in the Dubai office and with some site based construction supervision work, and is an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of public and private sector clients on some key and major projects and offers the opportunity for you to broaden your experience. The role will include: - Reporting to the Project Manager, the primarily role is to contribute to technical reports and operate analytical software packages. - Supervise contractor's work and monitor construction in accordance with approved programme. - Prepare progress reports - Set up computerised spreadsheets for engineering computations. - Summarise findings in calculations sheets. - Input to and production of design solutions and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance, refurbishment and foundation design. - Working with engineers of other disciplines in order to produce integrated geotechnical assessments into the overall project delivery. Mott MacDonald is an equal opportunties employer You will need to have the following to be a successful candidate: - A degree in engineering geology/geotechnics or civil engineering with geotechnical specialism. - 5 years relevant experience. - Enthusiastic and ambitious. - Outward facing, with good interpersonal skills. - Self-motivated, with good organisational capability. - Effective in both verbal and written communication. - Experience of in GIS to summarise geotechnical information spatially and managing geotechnical databases for the production of summary tables, charts, 2D drawings (cross sections) and 3D surfaces would be beneficial.
