For more information, visit our Arabic website, www.msf-me.org Médecins Sans Frontières France is looking for Yemeni national to recruit for the following position: 1 NURSE IPD/ICU/OPD Location: Based in Aden.
Limited duration contract: 9 months (until December 2014) Main Job Duties: • Realizes Admissions and discharges of patients
• Checks/Observes patients (V/S, pain score, In/Out balance, drainage, general condition, etc) and correctly fill in the patient file
• Checks lab test results (Hb, Blood Sugar, paracheck, etc) and inform the doctor as necessary
• Makes pain assessment and follow the MSF pain protocol
• Administers medications (IV, IM, SC, PO, NG) correctly (at the right time, dosage, drug, route and patient) and document on patients’ file
• Inserts IV catheters, Urinary catheters and NG tubes as ordered by a doctor following protocols
• Administers IV fluids at the appropriate rate and monitor to ensure that it respects the prescribed flow rate
• Applies splints to fractures
• Arrests haemorrhage
• Assists patients’ ADL (toilet, transfer, meals, hygiene, communication, etc) as necessary
• Ensures good understanding of treatment plans of patients
• Gives relevant, appropriate handover of patients between shifts and between units (when transferring patients to another unit)
• Teaches and explain to relatives/caretakers any assistance required of them in patient management
• Ensures a good report on registers and patients files
• Is able to assist the doctor/surgeon on complex dressing, debridment Qualification and Skills Requirements: • Valid diploma in corresponding professions
• At least 2 years of practicing
• Arabic speaker, fluent in both written and spoken English
• Capacity to work under pressure
• High motivation, flexibility and team collaboration
• Experience with other humanitarian organization an asset Application Process:
