The Centre specialises in behavioural and educational intervention, based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Autism is considered one of five pervasive developmental disorders that are defined by the behavioural symptoms observed in an individual. Although the combination and severity of symptoms vary, individuals who are affected will all experience some degree of developmental delay that may impact significantly on their lives. Regardless of diagnosis it is now known that early, intensive behavioural intervention can significantly reduce the symptoms of autism in many children and greatly improve the quality of life for others. individual. Using well-established behavioural principles children are taught socially significant skills, such as communication and play skills, while reducing inappropriate or competing behaviour such as non-compliance, tantrums or aggression. Our programs are individually tailored to the needs of each child and our comprehensive curriculum is based on age-appropriate developmental progression.
