Ref: KP594-246 The broad description of the Resident Engineer tunnels is to assist the Senior Tunneling Engineer by managing a team of tunnelling engineers and inspectors for all aspects of safety, quality, TBM manufacture & assembly, sgment mould procurement & segment production, spoil disposal, logistics issues in karstic ground conditions with high water table and tight construction programs. His main role is to insure that all safety, quality, design, technical standards, progress reporting and procedures are adhered to during the construction process of stations excavation, spoil disposal, structural work, concreting etc Under the Senior Tunneling Engineer’s supervision he will be responsible of the following: • Ensure that all aspects of safety are monitored & non-conformances corrected. • Provide tunnelling technical support. • Preparing presentations and reports as needed. • Ensure that quality & progress are effectively monitored and tracked throughout the program period. • Interact with all internal Stakeholders (Qatar Rail, Employer Representative, Logistic Coordinator and D & B Contractor staff) in addition to external Stakeholders (MMUP, Ashghal, Various Utilities, Civil Defense, etc.) • Attends meetings as needed. • Engineering degree or comparable Technical Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a bias towards Structures & Geotechnics • Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale Infrastructure Projects or Rail Transport Systems • International Experience (Middle-East) of working in Engineering Management Firm or in a construction site environment • Excellent oral and written English language • Qualified professional working under limited supervision capable of performing general technical works and manages projects or tasks of moderate complexity or less experience staff. • Strong Communication (written and oral) skills • Computer Proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word and Power Point) • Auto Cad is desired. • Arabic speaking is a plus Qatar Project Management (QPM) is an independent subsidiary of Barwa Real Estate Development Company that provides expertise in Project Management, Design Management, Construction Management, and Contract Administration together with other associated Project Management functions.
