Ref: GP618-72 Purpose: Control and management of central accounts functions, ensure timely submission of financial data to statutory/regulatory authorities, co-ordinate with external auditors and Central Bank UAE inspectors and oversee the smooth processing of the Bank’s general and administrative expenses in accordance with the Bank’s policy, procedures and Internal controls. Duties and Responsibilities: • Certify all Trial Balance, Ledger and Balance Sheet financial figures of the bank • Direct the review of Bank returns and follow up on unusual transactions, account balances, activities, and procedures and timely and accurate submission of returns. • Ensure that the financial records are in compliance with the U.A.E Central Bank directives and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). • Manage and control the structure of the Bank’s books (General Ledger and Income Statement) and instruct IT Department to amend and create the Bank’s Chart of Accounts whenever needed. • Prepare Quarterly/Half yearly/Yearly financial statements in compliance with IFRS for External Audit, publishing and the other legal requirements. • Ensure that all required documents for processing payment are generated and the proper approval is obtained as per the Bank’s policy and procedure. • Monitor on daily basis the prepaid, accruals and preliminary expense and ensure that all timely payments are executed. • Plan, prioritize and delegate work to department staff, determine work schedules and assignments, review work progress, conduct performance appraisals and make recommendations to Chief Financial Officer for transfer or disciplinary action as needed • Review the reconciliation of Nostro/Vostro accounts and Inter Branch accounts. • Authorize and release payments pertaining to IFB including cheques and fund transfers • Checker for the Authorized Signatory Repository (UAEASR) System introduced by Central Bank of UAE • Provide details to Insurance companies for the insurance of corporate /business loan and staff insurance. • Authority to sign cheques as per limits approved by the CEO in accordance with Bank Policy • Perform any other duties or responsibilities consistent with the role as assigned by management. Education & Experience: Education: • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or other related field Professional / Technical Qualifications / Diplomas: • Fully qualified accountant (CA or equivalent) Experience: • At least 10 years experience as financial accounts manager.
