The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and independent humanitarian organisation which works to protect and alleviate victims of armed conflicts. The ICRC is inviting qualified National Employees to apply for the position of Polyvalent Field Officer Based in Aden and covering Shabwah, Hadramout and Al Mahrah Governorates Main tasks • Collects systematically quality information on the evolution of the security and humanitarian situation. • Establishes, maintains and develops a network of relevant interlocutors (i.e. civil and security authorities, tribal, religious and community leaders, YRCS and other humanitarian actors). • Briefs interlocutors on ICRC’s mandate and activity in Yemen. • Liaises with other Department on transversal operational matters to share relevant information. • Organises or participates in field trips together with other Departments. May be leading resident staff team on the field if necessary. • Is familiar with ICRC’s Protection activity. Knows how to collect quality information. Runs Tracing services on the Field when necessary. • Contributes to local media monitoring for Southeast Yemen. Selection requirements • University degree or professional diploma; • 3 to 5 years work experience in the humanitarian sector. Prior ICRC working experience is a plus. • Very good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic and English; • Good knowledge of the Shabwah, Hadramout and Al Mahrah governorates; • Ability to spend a significant part of the working time on the field; • Ability to operate independently on the field; • Team leadership skills; • Good analytical and reporting skills; • Good communication skills; • Good computer literacy.
