Ref: NP574-15 Principal Accountabilities:
1. Project Accounting and Financial Controls
The Junior Project Accountant will support:
- Value of Work Done is accurately captured in the financial system and correct accruals are posted as part of the month end process; challenge inputs from the project team; ensure adequate back-up documentation on accruals is in place
- Commitments are accurately reported and proper records are maintained.
- Systems administration work is done effectively and efficiently to allow business transactions to be recorded accurately in SAP
- Manual of Authorities is adhered to
- Provide input to JV Partner reporting and cash call forecasting process
- Requisition-to-Pay process is adhered to by the supported Business and reporting regularly on status
2. Planning, Target Setting & Budgeting
The Junior Project Accountant supports the planning & target setting processes for the assigned sub-projects and activities, ensuring financial integrity and that estimates are reasonable and in line with other known information. The Junior Project Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring that the resulting plans and budgets are recorded in the appropriate corporate systems to enable performance to be reported against them.
3. Performance Management
Provide accurate, timely and quality management information on actual performance, budgets and latest estimates, both within the project team as towards other stakeholders outside the project team.
4. Finance Management
The Junior Project Accountant, with support of the Deputy Project Finance Manager, is accountable to ensure that specialists in the Finance function (Tax, Treasury, Insurance, etc.) are involved when required.
5. Supply Chain Management
Provide Finance input to the execution of contracts, comprising compliance with Majnoon's Contracting Policy & Procedures Manual (CPPM), tender evaluations, cost recovery and Anti Bribery & Corruption (ABC) requirements, contractor performance reviews, monthly reporting of VOWD and invoice payments (Requisition-to-Pay).
Key Challenges:
o Find the optimum between supporting the business and challenging the business when required (e.g. month-end accruals). o Build robust relationships with the Asset Teams, support teams (Contracting & Procurement and Controllers) to establish a collaborative environment.
o Ability to work independently on various tasks within an agreed timeframe.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
o Finance professional with accounting qualification. Preference will be given to candidates with a B.Sc .in accounting & financial techniques
o Need to be fluent in English
o Strong analytical skills, with eagle eyes for details
o Previous experience in project environment preferred
o Can-do mentality and Team player
o Good influencing and communication skills
o SAP Blueprint and Business Warehouse working experience preferred
o Contribute in the area of Health, Safety, Security and Environment through demonstration of own personal commitment to safe operations with particular focus on the security of the company's staff
