Provides support to the HR Director to develop the department’s strategic plans and budget, in particular the recruitment plans and initiatives; 2. Actively contributes to develop / revise HR policies and procedures in particular recruitment related policies and processes for Khalifa University; 3. Leads / participates in projects of critical importance for own area/ Office of Human Resources / University. 4. Manages the day-to-day operations of the Recruitment Section, providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement in a motivated work environment; 5. Prepares the short and medium term Recruiting Plans, in consultation with hiring departments and /or search committees and implements the same after obtaining approval of the HR Director; 6. Maintains Excel spreadsheets on position vacancies and status of the recruitment for each in the HR Shared Drive; 7. Writes advertisements for the web, newspapers etc. Vets the advertisements with the hiring departments. 8. Ensures the employment pages of Khalifa University are kept current to reflect the most up-to-date vacancy status; 9. Screens candidates and makes recommendations for candidate suitability to the hiring departments; 10. Leads the recruitment team to schedule interviews for short listed candidates. Ensures that appropriate panels are selected for all interviews as per HR Policy; 11. Coordinates and or participates in external recruitment events, locally and internationally; 12. Works with the Emiratization Coordinator to hire top UAE National talent for the Khalifa University; 13. Ensures completeness of all required documentation for hiring selected candidate. Oversees the preparation of error free employment offers and contracts for management approval for successful candidates; 14. Follows up on job offers. Responds to inquiries by candidates. 15. Ensures professional follow-up after the interview. Sends out regret letters to unsuccessful applicants and candidates ensuring that an appropriate communication is received by each person; 16. Works with the Manager, Government Relations, to process employees (and their dependents) for visas and clearances; 17. Works with the Manager, Administration to relocate candidates hired from overseas; 18. Collaborates with the Associate Dean of Sharjah Campus and the Sharjah Campus Manager to ensure consistent recruitment processes at both Abu Dhabi and Sharjah campuses; 19. Oversees the preparation of weekly recruitment status update for Executive Committee meetings, identifying issues and recommending actions. 20. Identifies and recommends appropriate recruitment agencies to source top talent for Khalifa University; 21. Coordinates with the Finance and Administration Department for service contract preparation / renewal if required and payment for services rendered by the agencies; 22. Works closely with recruitment agencies; provides detailed feedback regarding their performance in order to improve service delivery. Recruitment Systems 23. Develops and implements an appropriate on line application system for Khalifa University. Ensures recruiting database is updated continuously. 24. Works with the Learning and Development Manager to develop the employee orientation program that addresses both individual hires as well as the annual block intake of faculty. 25. Actively participates in recruiting staff for the Recruitment Section; manages supervised staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising performance; coaching, counseling, and disciplining them when necessary; 26. Motivates and mentors supervised staff, especially U.A.E. Nationals, in order to develop their competencies so that they are able to take on higher levels of responsibilities. 1. Computer skills appropriate for a manager level professional. 2. Knowledge of and experience with online recruitment tracking and recruitment database systems is highly desirable. 3. Must possess required knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job effectively. Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research was inaugurated on 13 February 2007 by the President of the UAE: His Highness Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The board of Trustees which is chaired by His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces was announced on 26 February 2008. KUSTAR is an Abu Dhabi Government initiative and is owned solely by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The University opened its new interim campus in Abu Dhabi on October 2008 to add to the campus in Sharjah (formerly Etisalat University College). The university's permanent Abu Dhabi campus is currently being developed. The Sharjah branch campus has a very proud 18-year history and on 11 February 2008 was merged with the Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research.
