The USAID\|DELIVER PROJECT is a worldwide program managed by John Snow Inc. (JSI) and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The USAID\|DELIVER PROJECT strengthens the supply chains of health and family planning programs in developing countries to ensure the availability of critical health products to customers. JSI is seeking a Logistics & Supply Chain Advisor for the USAID\|DELIVER PROJECT to be based in Sana’a, Yemen. The Logistics & Supply Chain Advisor, will be responsible for supporting USAID\|DELIVER PROJECT’s day-to-day Family Planning commodities logistics technical assistance activities, in collaboration with project staff and project’s counterparts in the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MOPHP) of the Government of Yemen. The Logistics & Supply Chain Advisor will report to the Deputy Country Director who is his/her supervisor. The Logistics & Supply Chain Advisor responsibilities: 1. Help implement work-plan activities for USAID\|DELIVER PROJECT logistics systems strengthening efforts in collaboration with JSI staff and partners e.g. Ministry of Public Health and Population (MOPHP). 2. Conduct and/or facilitate logistics assessments, surveys, evaluations, data collection, preparation of reports, and follow-up on logistical needs from the MoPHP. 3. Provide technical input in developing Standard Operative Procedures (SOPs) for routine logistics activities for (reproductive health?) and FP commodities 4. Participate in developing training curricula and training execution for logistics activities in national, regional, governorate, and district levels. 5. Collaborate with other JSI project personnel in efforts to develop and strengthen logistics systems in the public health sector including logistics management information system (LMIS) for use in managing different commodity groups. 6. Work closely with USAID\|DELIVER PROJECT management on managing relationships and maintaining routine communications with key stakeholders and local implementing agencies. 7. Provide input/data for writing routine quarterly and annual reports for submission to program funders and stakeholders. 8. Work with and monitor outside consultants in specified tasks and activities related to training and capacity building, including facilitating transfer of skills to appropriate local staff. 9. Provide support to field based staff and home office staff to implement project work-plan. 10. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor. Skills/Knowledge Required: Applicants for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications: • An Undergraduate degree in Public Health, Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or related degree. • Three years of professional experience in logistics environment, preferably in health care supply chain management. • Experience in training and developing standard operating procedures is a plus. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Excellent technical writing and oral presentation skills (in Arabic and English). • Strong verbal and written English and Arabic communication skills. • A proven ability to work as part of a team and to be self-managing. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Ability and willingness to travel in the field to various governorates/districts.
