Position title : Data Entry Clerk Location : Taiz, Yemen Publish Date : 20 January 2014 Deadline : 27 January 2014 Position Status : Full Time Reference Number: TAZ_DEC2014 PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: Mercy Corps (MC) is a non-profit, non-aligned, secular non-governmental (NGO) humanitarian relief and development organization, with offices in more than 40 countries around the world, including Yemen, where the organization has recently expanded with a robust humanitarian response and youth conflict mitigation portfolio with programming and has offices in Sana’a, Taiz and Aden The Database Clerk will be a par to the monitoring unit ensuring timely and accurate data in available for presentations and reporting. The database clerk will get field info from the field monitors, engineers and the implementing partners to ensure data is available for verification of project deliverables. GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: The Database clerk will collect record and analyze relevant data in order for the team to measure program impact and ensure compliance with organization and donor standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Participate in the development of a comprehensive database. • Ensure data is collected correctly and in a timely manner; • Enter monitoring data into computer-based data collection system according to schedule • In coordination with the Monitoring Assistant and Monitoring Officer analyze and summarize data, and help ensure high-quality reporting for regular, interim and final reports; • Work with Project Officer to track that program-based monitoring activities are being performed according to schedule; • Work in collaboration with the Monitoring Officer to provide timely reports and data summaries; • Conduct field visits when required to record finding from field and ensure high-quality data is collected in accordance with the agreed time plan and data collection strategy; • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to the organization and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission; • Other duties as assigned. ACCOUN?TABILITY: REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Monitoring Assistants WORKS WITH: Monitoring team, Program team and Implementing Partners. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: • A university degree • Experience working within an international NGO is preferred. • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel. • Strong oral and written English skills. • Ability to think independently and problem solve. • Honest, hardworking and committed to community development.
