The Technical Systems Project Coordinator will serve as the highest senior technical individual responsible for planning and deploying quality systems. Work closely with key individuals of Applications Development, Quality Assurance, Data Warehousing, implementation, and Infrastructure sections to coordinate directions and activities of enterprise application initiatives. Work directly with business users and effectively determine opportunities for improving solutions.
Requirements
EDUCATION: Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field. Masters degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 10 Years experience in IT of a medical field. Experience in Health Informations software development and implementation. Must have coordinated/implemented at least 2 large scale IT projects at medical institutions with key concentration on one or more areas of Radiology, Cardiology, Pharmacy, Laboratory, PACS and billing. Experience in any of Cerner, EPIC or Eclipsys or Oracle business suite with implementation experience in materials, HR and finance desired. Formal training /certification in any of the mentioned packages is required. Also hand-on HL7 messaging experience would be preferred. Certifications in Project management, Quality Management , JCI Accreditation's are preferred.

Position Summary

Work directly with business users and effectively determine opportunities for improving solutions.
Principal Accountabilities
• Provide in-depth technical support and guidance to major systems/projects to ensure the delivery of quality and effective information technology solutions.
• Play a key role in identifying and recommending area of concentration solutions’ software and hardware including devices to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the service.
• Play a key role in identifying areas of new applications, integration of existing and replacement of older applications to improve information access and delivery.
• Interact with customers to understand their business and to anticipate IT solutions based on business and technical knowledge. Support in managing the customer relationship with the business project sponsor.
• Support in the supervision and mentoring of project team member’s during the project. Provide project performance feedback to the team member’s supervisor/manager.
• Lead project or service including functionality, technical solution, implementation, support and quality.
• Understand and direct/participate in all phases of project implementation on multiple large projects.
• Prioritize work and schedules. Review project team deliverables to ensure quality (design walk-through, test results, etc.) and adherence standards/regulatory requirements.
• Provide support for capital and expense project budget and assist in capital and expense planning for IT projects.
• Work with other HIS sections and provide recommendations to ensure continuous improvement in quality of software and hardware developed and implemented at Medical Corporation.
• Benchmark outside health organizations and research firms to identify and evaluate best practices.
• Participate in the research, analysis, selection, and implementation of new tools, technologies and/or services.
• Participate in setting direction and standards for the portfolio or group.
• Ensure effective issue, risk and change management procedures to remove project obstacles and ensure high productivity.
• Support in performance improvement of the section with regards to quality of processes and performance of software applications.
• Ensure development and maintenance of specifications and documentation.
• Provide relevant input into HIS planning, program and service development, legal and regulatory issues.
• Responsible for the process of testing and quality control for the delivered software applications by HIS.
Key Competencies
• Experience working with iterative software development and implementation methodologies.
• Proven track record on delivering large scale IT projects at a medical institution with emphasis given on global/cross functional expertise.
• Provide in-depth technical support and guidance to major projects and project procurements.
• Work as a department/section liaison between IT, and other Medical Corporation departments/users.
• Support in scheduling resources and executing tasks against plans in the context of the Software Development Life Cycle, Project Management
Processes, Change Management and other IS processes.
• Partner with other HIS staff to ensure communication and resource requirements are effectively coordinated for priority initiatives.
• Work closely with business partners to ensure business needs are met and strong working relationships are maintained.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of information systems technology to continually improve applications and information systems processes.
• Provide HIS management with analysis of current applications, information systems processes, etc.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills with the ability to effectively manage and facilitate large cross-functional tasks and projects.
• Project management experience with strong technical skills for effective delivery of projects.
