Action Contre la Faim (ACF), is an International Humanitarian Organization which is private, non-political, non-denomination and non-profit making. Action Contre la Faim vocation is to save lives by combating hunger, disease and those crises threatening the lives of vulnerable men, women and children. ACF currently operates in 46 countries globally and conduct programs in nutrition, food security, health, water and sanitation. HEALTH Educator (2 Positions- OTP) Location: Aljarahy & Aslam Duration: 6 months renewable Assignment: Organize information sessions on hygiene, health and nutrition in the nutrition centres. Be in charge of stimulating the beneficiaries of nutritional programmes with games and other practices. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for stimulating the children and other beneficiaries of the centre: Propose sessions with games to stimulate the children and participate in their recovery; Encourage the mother-child relationship during appetite test and other activities taking place in the centre. Participate in receiving the patients and those accompanying them: Receive the beneficiaries and those accompanying them and give them information on how the centre functions. ; Coordinate the movements of the newly arrived persons up to their registration and then install them in OTP. Organize training sessions according to needs: Make a list of priorities in terms of information and awareness on questions of hygiene, health and nutrition; Adapt the methodology and training support to the relevant public in order to make them entertaining. Organize education sessions regarding the use of RUTF (Plumpy Nuts): Explain the composition of the PN to the beneficiaries; Explain the objective of the appétit test; Ensure the beneficiaries understand about the importance of quantities. Organize appetite test and in the Health posts: Appetite test; Check that all patients and caretakers wash their hand before the test; Explain to the caretaker the purpose of the appetite test; Distribute the Plumpy nut sachet and plenty of water. Reporting to the OTP supervisor: Make health education reports on a regular basis (daily / weekly / monthly); Report problems encountered to the Supervisor. Ensure the hygiene in the centre: Make sure before leaving the OTP place that the wastes are properly collected. Participate to the maintenance and the cleaning of the OTP site. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Teacher, Instructor, or training experience, familiarity with different stimulation/awareness methods; Patience; Energy; Good team spirit.
