The Embassy of Canada in Amman is seeking to fill the following vacant position: Under the direction of the Ambassador or his/her spouse, plans- organizes, executes and controls the delivery of ALL official receptions* luncheons and dinners including financial costing and reporting of the events, co-ordinates the daily meal service of the Official Residence and performs other duties. 12,822.77 per annum (based on an hourly rate of 5.12 JOD) plus benefits. Legally entitled to work in Jordan and able to obtain and retain enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance). Applicants should be able to communicate effectively in English and/or French. They must have previous experience of at least 5 years in a similar position. They should also have knowledge of safe food handling and food preparation, of a variety of international cooking and baking techniques (including various dietary requirements e.g. vegetarian, vegan. Halal, etc) and of international ingredients and recipes. The ideal candidate is able to work well as part of a team, thrives under pressure, and can manage their time effectively.
