An international, non-profit development and humanitarian organisation working in 30 countries worldwide is seeking to fill the position of Community Mobilization Coordinator in Hodeidah to support the implementation in Hodeidah/Raymah governorates.  Community Mobilization Coordinator Under the guidance and supervision of the Program Manager s/he will supervise the implementation of activities related to the establishment and strengthening of water user associations (WUAs) for a 3-year coffee production project. This will include community outreach and mobilization, liaising with community leaders and identifying and carrying out training of WUAs. The CM Coordinator will oversee a team of engineers who carry out WASH improvement activities in coordination with the newly developed WUAs. S/he will also participate in the identification of target villages and beneficiaries. In addition, s/he will be part of a multidisciplinary team and may have to contribute to the implementation of the organisation’s activities across several sectors, according to programmatic needs. Specific duties include •    Consult assessment data and liaise with community partners in the selection of WUA sites •    Create job descriptions for individual WUA positions and assist communities in the organized recruitment of such positions •    Explain and ensure acceptance of project details to community leaders, WUA members and the community at large •    Ensure 20% of all WUA board members are female •    Form and maintain quality working relationship with WUA members •    Oversee distribution and monitoring of small grants to WUAs in accordance with project goals •    Work closely with WUA members to identify appropriate irrigation and water systems construction sites •    Identify and liaise with experts to carry out training for WUAs as defined in initial stages •    Create project-specific leaflets for distribution in targeted communities •    Responsible for field staff and their training as it relates to WUA activities •    Consult with other project staff to ensure cooperation between WUA and coffee production associations •    Participate in & Organize meetings with community leaders and Government offices when requested •    Participate actively in Weekly Coordination meetings with Program managers, Base managers and Area Coordinators •    Assist with the coordination of security approvals for work-site  areas and other distributions •    Develop recommendations to the Programme Manager/AC in Hodeidah to adapt or improve the Project Plan •    Supervise the preparation of the work sites in accordance with WASH engineers •    Cooperate and assist the AME (Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation) Department in its monitoring •    Send Weekly Reports to Programme Manager/ Base Managers •    Any other duties requested by direct superiors Required Skills •    Thorough knowledge of project target areas and local specifics (Raymah governorate) •    Good communication and interpersonal skills •    Ability to relate to people on different levels including community leaders, co-workers and rural beneficiaries •    Project management skills including activity planning and reporting •    Computer literacy (notably Microsoft Office and Excel) •    Knowledge of water management issues and related subjects such as rainwater harvesting, catchment springs and irrigation systems Qualifications •    Bachelor Degree in agricultural engineering, WASH, or social sciences •    Previous work experience in a similar capacity, especially concerning rural water usage and water systems, 1-2 years minimum •    Previous NGO experience preferred •    Language requirements: native Arabic speaker, ability to communicate in English (both orally and in writing) preferred.
