Job Title: Project Planner
Description RT Refinery is seeking experienced planner with projects planning, coordination and execution experience to work under RT Refinery
projects unit. The candidate will work with a team of engineers, planners, field coordinators who are planning, coordinating , and executing
small projects (BI-19 , $4 Million or less) and planning, coordinating, and supporting execution of major project (More than $4 million). Thus
the candidate is expected to:
1. Lead all projects execution planners during the absence of the planner group leader.
2. Review the detailed design package for all RTR CAT-IV, BI-1900, and Major BIs projects.
3. Control the storage yard for the projects unit
4. Prepare weekly cost report on all RTR projects.
5. Confirm the availability of the materials in the design package take of list.
6. Assist the Construction Engineer with the contract development, bidding, evaluation, and administration.
7. Work with the Maintenance Services and Technical Support Division (MS&TSD) Material Group to order, coordinate technical review

requirements, and provide status reports on material requirements for all projects.
8. Coordinate the allocation and release of Saudi Aramco Material Stock (SAMS) materials.
9. Monitor and audit the construction contractor#s use of Saudi Aramco supplied materials.
10. Ensure that the contractor dispositions excess and surplus Saudi Aramco materials as required by Material Supply (MS) procedures, RTR
Internal controls, and the contract
11. Check the received materials to verify that they are in accordance with Material Take-off (MTO#s)
12. Visit job site to confirm materials availability and compatibility before planning work.
13. Follow up SAP handling of notifications, orders and closures from the initiation of the request up to the completion of the project.
14. Plan the work and coordinate with the maintenance planners to include in their weekly schedule.
15. Coordinate the design packages, material procurement, and field execution of BI-19 projects in RT Refinery.
16. Coordinate the closure of all RTR small projects and participate in the closure of Major projects
17. Responsible of coordinating and reviewing all design packages required for RTR projects/modification.
18. Share parts of RTR safety, reliability, optimization, and innovation programs responsibilities.
Selection Criteria
1. Two (2) years Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering plus at least 10 years field planning experience or equivalent in Refinery
Maintenance Planning, of which at least three (5) years in a similar position (project execution planning).
2. Five years at least expeince in materila procurment and filed execution of projects in oil and gas industeiries.
3. Certification in project planning is preferred.
4. Knowledge and experience with SAP
5. Hands on experience with planning software such as Microsoft project excel and Primavera.
6. Shall be able to converse fluently in the English language (both spoken and written) to prepare weekly status reports as needed.
7. Shows quality of leadership and ability to train others.
8. Good physical condition good eyesight (20/20 normal or corrected).
Comments
RT Refinery consists of four operation divisions; two refining divisions (North and South), one utilities division and one NGL and Oil
Processing division. RTR process 325MBD crude and 225MBD Gas Condensate to produce refined products such as diesel, gasoline,
kerosene and LPGs. Candidates will work under RT Refinery projects unit that reports directly to RT Refinery Engineering Department.
Minimum Requirements
A. Completion of ITC: English Reading and Writing; Industrial Math
B. Completion of phases I & II of the Maintenance Training Program
C. Completion of Maintenance Planner Program
D. Thirteen (13) years varied craft experience (experience in more than one major craft is desirable)
E. Must be thoroughly acquainted with the maintenance work of a division.
F. Possess a good working knowledge of Critical Path Scheduling.
G. Must be a recognized expert in Saudi Aramco Maintenance Work Control procedure and the use of Saudi Aramco Computerized
Maintenance Management Systems (SAP Plant Maintenance Module).
H. Must have a good working knowledge of Saudi Aramco Materials System on SAP, including use of the SAMS Catalog, requisitioning of
SAMS stock items, requisitioning of Direct Charge materials, use of surplus materials and procedures for returning surplus and excess
materials to the Storehouse.
I. Must possess a valid Saudi Arab Government driver's license.
Duties and responsibilities
A. Supervises all Maintenance Planners in the Division.
B. Consolidates weekly, monthly and yearly monitoring charts prepared by all Maintenance Planners into a Divisional Summary.
C. Identifies all materials, tools, equipment, and special preparations required for each job step. Must have a good knowledge of Saudi
Aramco Materials System in SAP, including use of the SAMS Catalog, requisitioning of SAMS stock items and Direct Charge materials
#9COMs#, use of surplus materials, returning surplus and excess materials to the Storehouse and all related SCMM Procedures. Ensures
that materials are on-site prior to scheduling the job. Ensures that surplus and excess materials are returned to the proper materials handling
personnel for eventual return to the Storehouse.
D. Provides the foremen with a completed package for successful execution of maintenance work at minimum cost.
E. Prepares regular and special analyses of manpower and backlog data for the Superintendent and recommends allocation of manpower
resources to maintain the highest possible activity levels in the Division while meeting Maintenance Goals.
F. Reviews the Whole Job Standards (WJSs) developed by Divisional Maintenance Planners and by other outside Maintenance Planners for
completeness, accuracy and applicability to the Division's needs.
G. Revises those WJSs needing changes, and maintains an index of WJSs for the Division.
H. Is the Divisional expert in the proper application of the Aramco Maintenance Work Control System and applicable Computerized
Maintenance System data files. The incumbent conducts periodic refresher training for all personnel with the use of these systems, and for all
Trainees who have been assigned to maintenance planning.
I. Coordinates with counterparts in other Divisions and with the Maintenance Systems Division to keep current with latest systems
developments and to provide the Division's input to the Corporate policy-making process.
J. Monitors, maintains and evaluates maintenance performance and activities for the Division, utilizing data provided by the Maintenance
Planners.
K. Recommends corrective actions based on the indicators and coordinates productivity studies within the Division.
L. Tracks manpower backlog trends and recommends strategies to balance overall manpower requirements.
M. Recommends contracting action for supplementary manpower as deemed necessary.
N. Attends coordination meetings to help formulate maintenance policies in his area of expertise.
O. Ensures that materials are received prior to scheduling the job.
P. Daily review of all released maintenance orders material reservations ,committed materials and performs MIGO_GI prior to scheduling the
work.
Q. Checks, received, store materials and issue to craftsmen assigned for Orders on daily schedule work.
R. Request crane/trailer and ensures contracts readiness or other resources required on the daily scheduled jobs.
S. Lists, edits and checks all issued minor maintenance tickets (MMT) and plans/schedules work.
T. Plans major jobs with the assistance & directions of senior planner.
U. Attends meeting & responsible for making the weekly and the daily work schedules.
V. Updates maintenance order statuses as to whether jobs are workable or unworkable, percent completion, estimated completion date,
reasons for delay and all other pertinent information.
W. Generates SAP reports or BW maintenance reports for performance or tracking analysis.
