Food Security Project Coordinator (National Position)- Yemen The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an International NGO with regional competence and expertise in working with displaced populations. The Regional Office is based in Nairobi, Kenya with offices and operations in Somalia (Puntland, Somaliland and Mogadishu), Kenya (Dadaab, Kakuma and Molo), Ethiopia (Addis Ababa, Dolo Ado, Shire and Asosa) and Yemen (Sana’a,Aden and Harad). The main aim of the position is to contribute to the start-up of the Food Security Program and overall planning and implementation of Food Security Project in Yemen. Please note: Due to the high number of applications we receive, we will not be able to respond to or process applications that are not submitted formally through our on- line Reference no.:1953744252 Job description • Participate in strategic planning and drafting of Food Security proposals, including need assessments, community consultations, technical design of the intervention and the budget associated • Assist in planning project implementation including technical activity, financial and procurement planning as well as preparation, implementation and coordination of monitoring and evaluation activities including logistical, HR and financial aspects • Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technologies and approaches for food security programming • Coordinate the Food Security activities carried out in all field locations ensuring that activities are in accordance with budgetary constraints and being implemented on schedule • Develop skills amongst recruited staff. Training of staff will include basic assessment techniques, participatory approaches for identification and follow-up of community projects, monitoring of food security, and also to train staff in data management/analysis and reporting • Ensure documentation of project progress and monitoring and evaluation according to NRC Horn of Africa & Yemen M&E Framework • Prepare monthly reports on Food Security project activities, including documentation for final handover and closure of projects • Participate and assist the Food Security Project Manager in relevant meetings with the UN, authorities, and other actors both centrally and in all provinces of activity • Assist in developing rapid response strategy and contingency plans related to Food Security Personal qualities • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Highly organized with excellent ability to coherently lead diverse spread out teams • Works well under pressure and in meeting deadlines • Excellent analytical skills in action and process focus on outputs and outcomes • High level of computer literacy • Good community mobilization skills, and ability to resolve individual and group conflicts • Individual and group facilitative capacity building skills • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity • Excellent program evaluative and report writing skills • Fluency in English Qualifications • Bachelor degree in agriculture, nutritionist, social sciences or a related subject with experience from working in complex • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience including 3 years at senior level in food security & livelihood program management • Exposure to a wide range of information management systems related to humanitarian/development and/or operational (eg construction) activities.
