Management reporting –
• Develop management dashboard slides and provide qualitative commentaries by understanding the numbers and the business impacts behind the numbers.
o This should be done by having a discussion with the other functional controllers and key stakeholders.
o Look for improvements in management reporting to provide qualitative decision support data
o Should always strive to be accurate and on time.
• Consolidate the monthly NELT commentaries from countries and ensure high accuracy and quality.
Forecasting process –
• Owns the forecasting process completely.
• TM1 inputs will be done by the sales controller, but ensuring overall accuracy and timeliness will be the responsibility of the financial controller.
• Look for improvements in the forecasting process, in coordination with the commercial controllers.
Internal Controls –
• Review and audit of the PTP and OTC RCMs with other functions, in every affiliate, every quarter
• Within PTP, expense claims and approvals to be sample checked every month.
• Conduct a review of the controlling processes like the TTC tracking, MB tracking, MB cost allocation checks, Pricing, etc with the other functional controllers in every affiliate. To be done quarterly.
• Prepare a short update for the management to provide the status of the health check in all affiliates for all the above areas every quarter.
• Track all policies and processes with a tracking document and ensure that new ones are put in place as and when required.
Statutory year end audit –
• Main contact for all external audit processes and requirements.
• Will discuss the timing, agenda and scope with the auditors.
• Will oversee all audit queries and ensure that all queries are fulfilled on time.
o The query clarifications will be provided by the respective functional controllers, but the financial controller oversees this process.
• Will ensure that the audit firm is efficient in conducting the audit to ensure completion of the audit on time.
External financial consulting –
• Will be the main contact for all external consulting topics once aligned with the FD.
• Any consulting to be done with audit firms such as EY/PWC/Deloitte on the topics of upcoming VAT, IFRS compliance, new affiliate set up topics in KSA and Iran, existing issues that needs advice, etc to be handled independently, with a brief update to FD and then to management.
Compliance management –
• Track all mandatory compliance trainings
• Complete compliance reporting on time for Compliance HQ.
• Main contact point for all queries on compliance. Collate and provide update to FD.
General Expense management –
• Budgeting and tracking of General Expenses
• Finding efficiencies in GE spends and ensuring budget controls and tracking in place in all affiliates. Key areas of qualification and expertise required for this role –
• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
• Experienced in FMCG controlling roles
• Experience in internal audit would be a distinct advantage
