Retail Manager - Qatar Duty Free - Doha Welcome to a world where ambitions fly high! Be part of a story worth telling! Join our award winning Qatar Duty Free team. We are Qatar Duty Free – a shopping emporium at the heart of Qatar’s state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport with more than 40,000 square meters of combined retail and dining. As the Retail Floor Manager you are responsible for the day- to day running of Qatar Duty Free stores in accordance with overall company policy. You will spend a lot of its time on the ground in our 24 hour operation, finding new ways to improve the commercial performance of Qatar Duty Free by increasing its turnover and maximising profitability- through people. You will be challenged to ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company's standards and will also be responsible for managing staff on day to day basis ensuring excellent standards of customer care met / exceeded. Additional accountabilities will include but not be limiter to the following: Sales and Customer Service: - Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency. - Touring the sales floor regulary, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues. - Analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales. - Using information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning. - Ensure that the merchandise is dispalyed attractively and customers can easily shop for what they need. - Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control. - Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met. - Resolving health and safety, legal and security issues. - Work to create a win- win situation where customers are satisfied and have a great experience shopping in Qatar Duty Free. Marketing and Promotions: - Organising special promotions, displays and events. - Participate in company official stock takes:arrange all areas, schedule staff, coordinate with Stock Control department, monitor accuracy & process whilst stock taking. Staff: - Work with the HR and Training and Development team to ensure relevant and regular training interventions are delivered to all retail staff to ensure the highest retail standards and customer service. - Manage employee related disciplinary issues in line with company policy You will ideally hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. You must have financial knowledge of Cash handling, banking and working with budgets. You will be proficient with MS Office, while working knowledge of other retail IT systems is must. You will have a minimum 7 years of job-related experience in retail - developing, managing and influencing people and the bottom line results. Experience working in the luxury market or prior experience with Duty Free or airport will be considered an advantage. You will have exceptional leadership skills- the ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. You will have the talent to develop, plan and execute strategies to maximize opportunities highly organised and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities. You are a hands- on retail operator who is flexible around the needs of a 24 hour business. Your ability to train and develop subordinate's skills along with your skill to foster teamwork among team members will allow you to perform well in this role.
