The foundation of Al-Futtaim’s retail network was established in the early 1990s with the launch of the internationally renowned and popular IKEA, Marks & Spencer, Toys R Us and ACE franchises in the UAE.
Representing some of the world’s most popular international brands, Al-Futtaim’s retail network extends throughout the UAE, GCC and North Africa and has a significant presence in Singapore and Malaysia following the acquisition of The Robinson Group in 2008.
In 2012, Al-Futtaim acquired a shareholding in Royal Sporting House, which is active in distribution, direct retail stores and shop-in-shops. The Singapore-based fashion, sports and lifestyle retail giant has 600 stores and many additional points of sale are spread around the world with over 399 in South East Asia, over 74 in the Middle East and over 126 in the South Pacific region.

Al-Futtaim Watches and Jewellery
Al-Futtaim Watches &Jewellery, part of the Al-Futtaim group is known for its wide variety of international brands to suit every taste and pocket, ensuring convenience to retail shoppers, wholesalers, and corporate clients. Al-Futtaim Watches &Jewellery includes renowned brands names such as Fossil, Esprit, Raymond Weil, Seiko, Kolber, Westar, Alba, Delma. Outlets are spread across the prime shopping malls, and numerous Duty Free channels in the GCC and the Sub–Continent.
The range of jewellery products includes a wide variety of pearls under the Minato brand name, plus precious stones set in 18 carat gold and certified loose diamonds from Europe. As a Head of Brands you will ensure that the brand/merchandising team anticipates, responds and reacts effectively in their buying plan to changing business circumstances, requirements, opportunities and threats. You will also be responsible for making sure all marketing and visual merchandising plans and initiatives are in line with company guidelines and standards and that they are done in coordination with the merchandise team; all with an end result of generating maximum profit to the business.
This would be a great opportunity if you are keen to make a real impact in the performance of the business as you will be making critical strategic decisions on maximising opportunities for growth and risk management in all product related areas. In order to be a successful Head of Brands you should be educated to a degree level, ideally with a business course in Merchandise Planning, Brand Management, Sales, Marketing and Promotions. You should also have at leastA 10 years' experience in a multi-unit, multi brand retailing company, ideally in the Watches and Jewelry industry, in the category management / brand management function, as well as at least 2 years of experience in heading a group of brands or a large brand.
You should also be computer literate, have advanced exposure to retailing practices, promotions and visual merchandising activities, merchandise planning and brand management, buying and sales function, and managing relationships with large international Principals.
