Linum Consult’s client is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to review and approve the mechanical designs of third party consultants for a significant infrastructure project in Qatar. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reviewing and approving all Mechanical Designs submitted by the sub developers for the Wet Utilities works, including Potable Water, Storm Water, Drainage Networks, and Municipal-sized Pump Stations - Liaising with the Electrical Engineer to ensure the overall mechanical connected load and diversified loads do not exceed the allocated electrical loads - Ensuring that all sub developer designs are in accordance with Kahramaa, Ashghal and Civil Defense codes, standards and specifications - Implementing the project quality plan, quality procedures and productivity related to all sub developer mechanical works submittals in accordance with the program of work on the project - Assisting in defining the process for execution of engineering activities related to all types of mechanical systems, and identifying the need for speciality assistance - Providing technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters, designers and engineers working on the same project - Providing regular reports on progress to the Head of Technical Engineering Services - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering - At least 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with a history of working with design consultants/clients - Technical design knowledge of Potable Water, Storm Water and Drainage Networks: our client will ONLY consider candidates with significant infrastructure works. Candidates with buildings experience will NOT be considered - Demonstrable history of using CAD software - Certified and registered as a Grade A engineer in Qatar - Previous experience of working alongside Kahramaa - Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English Linum Consult is a niche global consultancy specialising in international recruitment of white collar workers across the Construction & Engineering, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors.
