4)Fleet Management

-Maintenance of assigned vessel(s)
-Ensures maintenance is in accordance with the applicable Rules & Regulations, industry standards and the Fugro Maintenance Strategy as agreed upon in the Ship management contract;
-Reviews all planned and repair work scopes reported.
-Is consulted by and advises the Port Captain / VSI and Chief Engineer on technical matters.
-Continuous preparation of Maintenance- and Repair Periods and the budgets thereof.
-Up to date emergency docking plans and documents

-Vessel in class and Flag with good performance on availability, reliability, statistics on maintenance and materials as per contract
5)Fleet Development
a)Functional Tasks
-When assigned, prepares and/or contributes to modifications

6)IT Management
a)Functional Tasks
-Updates and maintains all vessel documentation in the CMS.
-Ensures that the vessel specific data quality of the CMS system is in line with company standards.

7)Procurement Management
a)Functional Tasks
-Consulted on requested materials or services on time and against minimal costs in accordance with the Company’s best economic interests;
-Preparation of project related Material and services requests
-Ensures that ordering requests of materials or services is done in time and against minimal costs in accordance with the Company’s best economic interests as per work planning procedure (PO’s are approved by VSI)
b)Deliverable Criteria
-Satisfactory procurement statistics
8)Financial Management
a)Functional Tasks
-Gives input to the required capitalized budget to the VSI that matches the minimal costs, in accordance with the Company’s best economic interests, to fulfil all requirements in respect of rules & regulations, strategies and performance standards agreed upon in the ship management contract or additional requirements of the owner and / or operator;
-Adheres to and reports expenditure on the approved capitalised budget in accordance with the Fugro Fleet Management System.
b)Deliverable Criteria
-In time and accurate project reporting
-Annually a 5 year forecast on capital expenditures
9)Marine Crew management
a)Functional Tasks
-Reviews performance of Chief Engineers and provides the Port Captain / VSI with input.

10)Regional Specific Compliance-ADMA OPCO Requirements (As per ASMC and ASMV standards)
a)Functional Tasks
-Ensures and reviews that the Engine crew assigned as per local requirements to the assigned vessels is relevant to the needs of the vessel and provides feedback to the crewing department
-Evaluates chief engineer on board in line with the Fugro appraisal system.
-fully brief all newly appointed Chief Engineers on local conditions and the performance expected by the OPCO, and will familiarise such personnel fully with the OPCO SIMO, Abu Dhabi port areas, rules and regulations before appointing them to the vessel; -Valid Chief Engineer COC STCW-95 Regulation III/2 over 3000kw
-Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the Rank of Chief Engineer
-Several years as a Port Engineer or similar role
-Knowledge of IMO regulations, ISM and ISPS codes-
-knowledge of regional marine standing instructions (ADMA/ZADCO, QP and ARAMCO )
-Previous experience as a manager is preferred;
-Previous experience as asset manager, technical superintendent is preferred.
-Academic-, or equal level of ability;
-Experience with MS Office related software;
-Fluent in English verbally and in writing.
FUNCTION CONTEXT
Frequent planned and unplanned travel required around the region, occasionally cross continental.
