Our client is one of the leading international construction and engineering firms with strong presence in the Middle East. They are currently looking to invest in chartered Managing Quantity Surveyor who will be based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This position requires strong experience in Hotel (or similar hospitality) projects and previous experience in leading large teams. Main responsibilities • Manage contractor cost impact assessments including quantities and rates, taking-off from drawings and pricing works, preparation of site instructions and variation orders, evaluation of contractor claim submissions and assessing contractual entitlement • Maintain adequate records in respect of project issues and commercial processes • Manage Contract administration and contractor payment applications • Operate strategies to maximize project revenues and cash flow in company’s favor • Ensure timely submission of all contractual notices and supporting data • Lead the Change Control Process and seek early resolution of contract changes • Assist Project Management teams with advice and contractual support for project issues • Assisting in reviewing & formulating tender submissions • Liaise with project support functions such as finance, supply chain, risk and so on to ensure compliance with the company’s procedures and instructions • Support project cost control management ensuring variances between planned budget expenditure and incurred costs are identified and appropriate action taken to minimize costs and liabilities • Internal and external commercial periodic reporting • Manage subcontract procurement and accounts • Ensure insurance issues are managed in accordance with procedures Qualifications, Experience & Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying is required • Chartered Membership; MRICS or equivalent is required • Minimum 8 years of experience with specific focus on hospitality projects • Experience in understanding construction processes and methodology and the ability to analyses costs accordingly • Proficiency in MS Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word The name MENASA originates from both the geographical region of Middle East, North Africa & South Asia as well as the Arabic word for platform or stage.
