An international engineering consultancy company is currently conducting a search for a Commercial Manager with vast experience working on stadium or complex sports programme. The position is based in Qatar. Responsibilities: • Manage the review and legal analysis of all Contracts, Tenders, Contract Awards, and Letters of Acceptance. • Assist the general counsel in providing advice to ‘company’ senior management on claims and contractual issues including, bonds, insurances etc. • Review of RFP/ITT Terms and Contract Conditions (including preparing ‘company’ draft qualifications for consideration by the senior management • Review of tender/contract bond requirements (in conjunction with Finance Division) • Review of Letters of Award or Contract Documents for signature (in conjunction with the relevant Division) including preparation of any necessary contractual adjustments • Responsible for the preparation and implementation of Commercial Strategies, including communication to the Senior Management Team and negotiations with the contractor when required • Negotiations with the Clients Consultants and Contractors on contract terms and conditions and on all project related issues of contractual significance. • Ensure the terms of the contract are followed and effect supplemental agreements if required. • Contract interpretation and guidance in contract administration during the course of live projects, e.g. to ensure that any formal Notices that may be required under a Contract are properly and timeously sent. • Assistance in the preparation of major claims to be submitted by ‘company’ to clients or other parties • Assistance in the defense of claims against ‘company’ made by third parties. Qualifications, Experience & Skills: • You must have a degree in Quantity Surveying or engineering related field • Preferably MRICS/MCIOB/other further educational qualification • Must have a minimum of 15 years’ post graduate experience and relevant indoor sports facilities or stadium project. At least 15 years in a similar position, GCC experience preferred. • Must understand FIDIC contracts.
