CAMPAIGNS / PROMOTIONS:
- Brainstorming on marketing events and concepts.
- Check feasibility with the various departments.
- Prepare management presentation & budget for approval.
- Brief the Head of Design on creative requirements and deliverables.
- Brief PR agency through PR & Communications Manager, on campaign and our expectations of the awareness.
- Discuss with procurement printing and giveaway requirements / place orders.
- Brief the cinemas/call centre/ various departments on the mechanics.
- Arrange for delivery of marketing materials minimum 3 weeks prior to campaign activation date.
- Communicate with IT for inclusion into Website, E-kiosks, and Mobile App.
- Double-check that all marketing materials are displayed in strategic positions within the cinemas.
- Be contact for the day and present at the event 3-4 hours prior to ensure all suppliers present and do final checks.
- Take pictures which can be used for social media updates.
GULF FILM / NOVO CINEMAS:
- Manage events when required.
- Marketing the Gulf Film brand and seek opportunities for awareness.
SITE & COMPETITION INSPECTIONS:
- Check that all marketing materials are in place (pocket guide, magazines, campaigns, events).
- Check on any apparent service failures and report to the relevant department (depletion of an F&B item such as juice; Non-working E-kiosks; Plasma’s).
- Confirm that cinemas are clean and well presented as brand.
- Observe staff interaction with patrons.
SOCIAL MEDIA MONITORING:
- Ensure campaigns and marketing information is communicated in a timely manner.
- Provide creative’s for updates (Skin, highlighted posts).
MALL PARNERSHIP & COMMUNICATION:
- Daily interaction with mall management to ensure sufficient brand awareness across the site and their marketing platforms. Engage them on partnerships that could drive footfall to both mall and cinema.
- Contact for special request and campaigns which require our involvement (Eid extended hours).
DIRECT CINEMA CONTACT ON DAY TO DAY MARKETING:
- Contact with the cinemas daily on branding & marketing request such as toilet signage, approvals on booking request.
- Write communication on campaign mechanics.
MARKETING LITERATURE & TOOLS:
- Creation of day to day marketing literature such as movie ratings, house rules, cinema openings & closures, new sites launches.
- Weekly updates in the pocket guide, website and on social media applications.
ADDITIONAL MARKETING SUPPORT:
- Create special offers for F&B when required.
- Update of all branding deliverables such as stationery, email signatures, concession packaging throughout the year.
- Draft barter proposals.
TIE-UPS & COLLABORATION WITH BRANDS THAT SUPPORT OUR STRATEGY

MEDIA & ADVERTISING:
- Create media plan for each specific “larger” campaign.
- Arrange special rates with publications.
- Confirm the booking orders.
- Send the placements.
- Arrange for the payments.
BUDGET CONTROL:
- Keeping record of daily expenditures to review against cinema budgets.
BRANDING:
- Facilitate in conjunction with agency refresher updates for branding items such as popcorn boxes, tissue boxes, email signatures, stationery.
- Ensure all departments are aware of brand guidelines and use the logo in correct manner.
- Approve any logo placements.
PROCUREMENT:
- Brief department on campaign and requirements.
- Request to view samples.
- Get management approval.
- Place orders according to required numbers.
- Arrange delivery to Gulf Film.
- Brief Store Department on the distribution list for each of cinema.
- Inform cinemas of the deliveries.
- Keep stock updates.
ADHOC DUTIES:
- Support movie marketing with movies such as Dark Knight, Skyfall,Mission Impossible
- Place orders for movie memorabilia (Man of Steel)
- Assist with special screening request (Shooting Stars)
- Send suggestions to enhance specific movies (Twilight, Fast & Furious,The Hobbit)
- Implement customer survey.
- Year End gifts concepts. Create guest list.
- Write introduction letter. Arrange delivery. Put in place mechanics.
- Provide input into movie guide & assist proof reading. - Bachelor’s Degree or MBA in either fields of Marketing, Branding, Journalism, Public Relations, Customer Service or related field.
- 5-8 year’s management experience (Brand preferred).

Our journey began in 2000 under the Grand Cinemas brand. The launch of the flagship Grand Cineplex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, would be the cornerstone of an entertainment chain that would soon extend across borders and introduce to the region such pioneering technologies as online booking, e-kiosks and the first cinema-dedicated mobile app, in addition to the UAE’s only IMAX screen.
In 2012, Grand Cinemas was acquired by ELAN Qatar W.L.L (ELAN) as part of the Gulf Film Group, and so began an exciting new chapter in our story. Attuned to the evolving social habits and needs of today’s movie-goers, in 2014 we re-inaugurated the chain as Novo Cinemas, an identity that would reflect our promise of a complete entertainment experience.
In the same year, we opened our doors at World Trade Centre-Abu Dhabi, a location near and dear to Emirati hearts in the capital’s old central market, and took premium cinema to Qatar, welcoming movie-goers at the luxury island destination of The Pearl-Qatar. As a result, our expansive network now spans no fewer than 119 screens and 22,000 seats in 15 locations across the UAE, Qatar and Jordan. Ongoing expansion will see our numbers grow to over 200 screens by 2015 – and our IMAX network extended to four spectacular screens.
Where people once came together solely for a viewing experience, now they meet, share, contribute, celebrate and connect.
