Reporting to the General Manager this position covers a wide range or responsibilities including project management, greenfield projects, health and safety, continuous improvement, quality and product development.
Manage process/product engineering and coordinating the efficient transfer of products and technology from product development to manufacturing sites.
Analyze weekly/monthly, product/process cost statements & conduct cost reviews for productivity enhancement & process improvement. Examine profitability trends over product/process life cycle & compare with estimates.
you will partner with operation managers and relevant stakeholders, to identify problems, review procedures, develop solutions, improve efficiency and quality of process output and identify appropriate monitoring and auditing mechanisms.
As the excellence champion you will lead operational transformation and performance improvement initiative that facilitates industry best practices and align it to best fit with the organization’s strategy
Drive the strategic aspects of large and complex projects, review high-level deliverables across project and ensure all contingencies, and anomalies of risks are formally and informally measured and mitigated throughout the lifetime of the project.
Identify new manufacturing technologies, and systems that are relevant to setup, conduct feasibility studies and present recommendations to the management; upon approval lead the management of change processes to achieve operational efficiency.
Develop a detailed business case for enhancing existing products/technology and partner with all relevant stakeholders and third parties to manage the governance of project from inception to delivery ensuring project milestone are followed within stipulated budget.
Lead and manage all aspects of Greenfield Project and deliver a range of major and medium works to include managing masterplan, feasibility and schematic planning, managing client/stakeholder/consultant relationships, budget and performance reporting within the project framework.
Manage the development, implementation and evaluation of the Company-wide Environmental Health and Safety management and control system, facility management programs and risk minimization to ensure the security and safety of company property.
Drive sustainability initiative for QHSE and oversee implementation of social audits (SEDEX) to drive improvements in ethical and responsible business practices
Lead product development efforts by understanding customer expectations and collaborate with production team and business development team in areas of design system performance, delivery criteria and communicate project status and results.
Perform market research on technology and process enhancements and undertake improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve efficiency and quality in bottleneck areas.
Partner with cross-functional teams to execute new product development plan and manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. Education
Master/ Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or Quality.
Certification in Project Management, Quality Management, Six Sigma, and HSE preferred.
Experience
At least 15 years of experience within a manufacturing industry with 4-6 years in Operations Head role.
Technical knowledge gained through formal training and QA with 10 years relevant work experience
Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge
Rigid plastic packaging experience (Injection , Blow and Thermoforming)
Operational excellence and Project management experience of setting up new factories
Experience in completing Greenfield projects
Continuous Process Improvement experience
Rigid Plastics product development experience
Lean and SIX sigma experience
Quality and HSE experience (for QA/QC, he will be assisted by a QA/QC Manager)
Expert knowledge of Quality, Safety & Environmental Management Systems, Development & Implementation.
Possess excellent Facility Management skills.
Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools.
Thorough understating of product development techniques and financial principals.
