• Assessing client’s needs, abilities and behavior using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews with child and parents and direct observation of behavior.
• Carrying out school observations and liaison as appropriate, including supporting teaching staff with the management of challenging behavior.
• Writing comprehensive psychological reports, including a treatment plan.
• Working as part of multidisciplinary team alongside clinical psychologists, social workers, education professionals, ABA therapists’, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists;
• Devising and monitoring appropriate program of treatment, including therapy, counseling or advice, in collaboration with colleagues;
• Offering therapy for difficulties’ relating to anxiety, social and interpersonal problems challenging behavior and, increasingly, a range of more complex problems including eating disorders; work may include a focus on either child mental health or on working with developmental disorders or a combination of both.
• Designing and implementing social group therapy for clients of different age groups and levels of functioning;
• Developing and evaluating service provision;
• Providing consultation to other professions, encouraging a psychological approach in their work; • HAAD and/or DHA License, Western Educated
