This is an opportunity to work for a Global British Consultancy in the Petrochemical sector, living and working in Oman.
The Role
Senior Contracts / Cost Engineer – Sohar, Oman
You will be part of a senior expat management team providing strategic Contracts advice in support of our clients’ organisation in the Petrochemical Sector.
The role will be responsible for all Procurement and Pre-Contract activities including Scope, Contract Formation, Tendering, Contractor negotiation etc.
The role will involve establishing and developing robust systems in order to assist the client to manage and administer a significant number of complex, high value schemes.
The successful candidate will assist in the development of:
Tenders and RFPs to include Preparing Bidders Lists.
Preparing pre-qualification reports.
Identifying Deliverables list and Assisting in development of Evaluation Factors/Evaluation Standards.
Assist in implementing the Tender Phase including Preparing Requests for Proposals RFP’s (Tender) packages.
Preparing Expression of Interest notices.
Leading Pre-Bidder / Proposal discussions and Preparing amendments to Tenders.
Assist in the Award of each contract including.
Reviewing bids/proposals, Ensuring that bids are responsive.
Providing technical assistance to panel during evaluation.
Reviewing panels’ submission and recommendation to ensure the evaluation process was performed in accordance with the requirements of the Request for Proposal.
Preparing Bid Evaluation Reports.
Preparing Recommendations for Award.
Conducting price and cost analysis and Contracts preparation / formation.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain Petrochemical / Oil & Gas experience. It is a hands on role and our people are fully integrated with the clients’ team.
Petrochemical / Oil & Gas experience is not essential. We are looking for people with major or complex project experience where significant Pre-Con and Contracts Administration was involved.
5 day working week, 7am-4pm.
The role is based in Sohar, Oman which is located 2 hours’ drive from Dubai and 2 hours’ drive from Muscat. Experience, knowledge & Skills
Minimum of 12 years’ experience.
Degree qualification is preferred but not essential.
Must be able to demonstrate longevity in previous work history.
Must have experience with well recognized, blue-chip construction organisations on major projects.
