The Company: Our client is a leading Project Management Consultancy in Qatar. They are looking for an Accounting Manager Duties & Responsibilities • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and GL Structure • Ensure accurate and timely, monthly, quarterly and year end close • Ensure monthly bank reconciliation activities are performed in a timely manner • Collaborate with other managers to support overall department goals and objectives • Ensure financial control is adequate and in accordance with IFRS and annual accounts prepared on a timely basis • Provide advice and guidance on financial issues, bid evaluation and tender committees • Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements • Ensure proper revenue recognition and recording of expenses • Review and approve journal entries • Ensure all accounting activities are in compliance with company policy and IFRS • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department • Support the Finance Department management in special projects and workflow process improvements • Compute total cost of services right through the organization in order to determine price list. Primarily reviews the costing of services computed by other departments and agree, confirm its adequacy. • Support the budget and forecasting activities. • Reviews cash book, bank book and bank reconciliation statements AR / AP, asset capitalizations. • Control and monitor the maintenance of comprehensive records of The Company asset, systematic reviews, of work in progress, and ensure civilization, write off and depreciation is properly accounted. • Manage payment policies and controls to ensure that the authorization and processing of payments to employees, suppliers and contractors are in compliance with company policy and in the best interest of the company • Direct and supervise the administration of disbursement accounts, invoicing of services to customers, joint venture shareholders, related parties and other debtors and ensure prompt collection and settlements • Ensure customers are invoiced in accordance to their contracts and maintain contacts with customers to ensure sound financial relationship • Organise and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner. • Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development. • Work with each direct reportee to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor /advice on their progress to enhance their professional development • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement. • Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner. • Prepare departmental statements and reports timely and accurately to meet The Company and department’s requirements, policies and standards. • Ensure that all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed. Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelors degree in Commerce / Accounting and preferably internationally acceptable professional accounting qualification (ACA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA). • 8-10 years of accounting experience with good exposure to modules in the ERP system with a minimum of three years in a supervisory position, preferably international or regional PM/CM • Demonstrate sound knowledge of financial/accounting methods/IFRS processes and requirements • Ability to understand technical issues of multiple disciplines – develop strong working knowledge of The Company operations/activities. • Accounting skills • Attention to detail • Analytical and reporting skills, Propel Consult delivers a service in step with the needs of both our client companies and candidates.
