We are in urgent need of a Head of Structural Engineering for Underground Metro Rail projects in India. The right candidate will have extensive experience in Metro Rail Underground Structures, Stations and tunnel projects. The right candidate will have a minimum of 20 years of overall experience and over 10 years in Rail projects. Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications Essential: A relevant qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering Significant experience on structural engineering type projects with sound structural engineering understanding during design and construction in Rail and Metro infrastructure projects. Ability to act as technical lead as well as a good team member and deliver to timescales under pressure Experience of site investigations and supervision including desk study reports in order to identify potential engineering hazards Experience of working with a range of project stakeholders, contractors and clients Good communication ability, both written and verbal Understanding of safety management and quality assurance Ability to support the structuring safety cases in support of projects Ability to support the arrangements required for the independent assessment of works Desirable: Chartered Engineer with Membership of a relevant professional institution or working towards it Experience of building tunnels or railway bridges Knowledge of the Ventilation systems Knowledge of the Railway Infrastructure Understanding on establishing project scoping, design, contractual or financial management Able to be innovative, looking to develop their technical and management skills with the willingness to tackle challenges Norconsulting is a specialised recruitment firm helping companies place highly qualified staff in both permanent and contract positions with clients worldwide, recruiting both locally and internationally in the following areas: Engineering, Oil & Gas, IT and Telecoms.
