Quality Manager Ireland (Infant Formula / Infant Nutrition / IMF) A multinational, multibillion-turnover nutrition company requires a world class Quality Manager for its Infant Nutrition / Infant Formula plant in Ireland. The demand for Irish Infant formula has been favoured by a surge in Asian infant formula consumption and the abolition of EU milk production quotas. This increase in demand from and supply to Ireland’s IMF facilities means that there is massive potential for growth for the successful Quality Manager. Responsibilites: - You will develop strategies for external QC testing support - including qualification of third party service providers. - You will be the customer issue, query or complaints point of contact, as well as being the internal point of contact for customer and commercial services. - You will ensure the reliability of QC testing results. - You will execute method validation strategies and proficiency testing programs. - You will ensure that laboratory operations adhere to the environmental, health and safety policies already in place - You will maintain required certifications for GMP, HACCP, ISO, UK Multiples and others. - You will develop and implement food safety strategies using risk based analysis (HACCP) to reduce/eliminate hazards throughout the entire production process - You will implement and manage HACCP pre-requisites programs (eg GMP, pest control, cleaning/sanitation, preventive maintenance/calibration) - You will collaborate with manufacturing and engineering functions to ensure an overall factory hygiene plan (eg. zoning, design, environmental monitoring etc.) that is successful in eliminating microbiological risks. - You will provide quality leadership for crisis management process to address quality issues, regulatory actions and any product recalls or market actions. - You will develop and implement QS auditing to assure GMP compliance, and to support site audit readiness. - You will be responsible for overall plant quality and GMP training programs. - You will provide leadership for a comprehensive change control program to review, assess risks and approve any proposed changes. - You will develop and manage a CAPA program to investigate and resolve any product quality issues, defects, non-conformities or consumer complaints. - You will oversee any investigation teams and employ effectiveness problem solving techniques. - You will proactively identify areas of improvement and implement preventive actions. - You will ensure accurate and timely reporting of established operational QA metrics which will be aligned with overall business and quality objectives. - You will define raw/packaging material testing and sampling strategies, and maintain material specifications. - You will support resolution of supplier quality issues. - You will define and report quality metrics to track supplier performance. - You will collaborate with the NPD team during new/reformulated product introduction to ensure compliance with already established specifications and regulatory requirements. - You will have a University qualification in a scientific or technical discipline - You will have at least 7 years' experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Systems with a background in Quality or Food Safety Management Systems with high pace Infant Formula (preferred) or high risk food (Soups, ready-made/microwave meals, dairy desserts, prepared salads etc). - You will have fluent English - You will have excellent IT, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. - You will be proficient in applicable GMP/QSR regulations. - You will have quality Systems Audit experience. - You will have excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret data methodically. - You will have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate technical information effectively to people with all levels of knowledge. - You will receive an extremely competitive salary for this role, based on experience and proven excellence.
