Purpose of this position is:
- To provide support, coaching, training and assessment in regards to lean warehousing in GMI facilities;
- To implement GMS in GMI facilities;
- To drive productivity efficiency and continuous improvements in GMI warehouses;
- To provide business plan support and maintenance of KPIs to the regional director.
- All warehouses conformed to the global template and GMS implemented;
- Plan and implement initiatives to improve operation KPIs (productivity, quality and structural cost) year over year;
- Organize and conduct monthly reviews with the business units.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lean implementation 70%:
- Identify, analyze, develop, implement and support new and improved lean warehousing methods, processes, systems, and layouts over a global footprint.
- Apply and train plants on Lean Warehousing Principles;
- Implement General Motors Global Manufacturing System (GM-GMS) principles.
- Improve productivity;
- Lead process compliance and lean processes that drive accountability into global operations.
- Analyze costs and benefits of alternatives.
- Prepare reports and presentations on recommended solutions.
- Support global plants on technical and operational issues.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops to lead and facilitate the development of global team.
Business planning 30%:
- Delivery accurate and KPIs analytics;
- Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists the global team with decision making and continuous improvement.
- Deep understanding of analytics and the ability to leverage this knowledge into specific action plans.
- Organize and conduct monthly reviews with the business units. Knowledge:
- Warehousing (lean and operation)
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others across many different cultures.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Tableau.
Experience/Education:
- Proven leadership abilities with more than 7 years’ leadership experience.
- Understanding and experience using different warehouse management systems.
- Experience supervising warehouse distribution operations.
- Ability to successfully lead projects of all sizes, with sense of urgency.
- Strong ability to teach and deep understanding of Lean Principles (GMS).
- Problem solving with a high level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and plan.
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative for work and project planning
- Travel – 50% minimum
- Ability to work any shift
