We are looking for a Resident Engineer who will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and inspectors by providing comprehensive construction supervision on a major water transmission pipeline project. The ideal candidate will provide The Management of the organization and the client with latest progress related to site work. Key Responsibilities: • Act as a Client’s Representative and focal point for matters related to the supervision of water transmission project • Coordinate with, instruct and supervise site engineers, quantity surveyor and inspectors • Carry out checks of contractors work • Complete supervision work within the agreed times • Coordinate with other design disciplines as required on a day-to-day basis or as set out by the project requirements • Manage project to meet time constraints and control team costs and invoicing • Manage sub-consultant costs and invoicing • Assist in contract administration and conflict resolution, act as a mediator for the Client and Contractor • Maintain risk register and relevant supporting files • Liaise with and advising the client on construction, quality and progress Required experience and competencies for this role: • B.Sc. or post graduate Civil or Mechanical Engineering • 25 years in increasingly responsible positions • Experience shall include construction of water projects, with big sizes water pipelines (mainly Steel and DI) • Past experience shall include successfully completing a previous projects as Resident Engineer on at least two Projects of similar nature and size of work • Fluency in English is essential with excellent written English language skills • Strong relationship management skills and personally confident to effectively address and influence stakeholders • Delivery focused individual with the ability to work in a self-sufficient manner • Ability to build strong working relationships/networks with all stakeholders and maintain a high degree of integrity • Strong planning, organising and administrative skills ARCADIS is the leading global natural and built asset design & consultancy firm working in partnership with our clients to deliver exceptional and sustainable outcomes through the application of design, consultancy, engineering, project and management services.
