We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will supervise, control and maintain all mechanical works on a large water transmission Pipeline project in Oman. This role will support the entire construction supervision team by conducting review and inspection of all mechanical works, including the design review, site inspections, testing and commission. Key Responsibilities: • Be aware of all mechanical aspects of the project with particular focus on the piping, pumps and valves • Reviewing compliance in the components of the project under his responsibilities, including drawings, reports, specifications, installation and studies • Supervise contractor’s Mechanical works and maintain the required records and associated registers • Verify measures of Mechanical works completed and prepare regular reports on the progress vs. programme • Attend inspections with authorities • Review design and assist in co-ordination with other disciplines to ensure constructability • Ensure all material inspection and testing is carried out in accordance with the specification and the contract requirements • Review and prepare responses to contractor’s submissions (i.e. Method Statements, RFIs, ITPs, etc.) • Observe site safety and issue notices as appropriate • Report to Resident Engineer and update on issues as required • Participate in planning, risk identification & assist in resolution of issues in a timely manner • Ensure accuracy and completeness of records, including As Built documentation • Provides technical expertise when needed • Training and managing the team of Inspectors Required experience and competencies for this role: • Minimum Bachelor Certificate in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum 10 years’ in a similar position • Past experience in successfully completing water projects in a mechanical engineering capability • Fluency in English is essential with excellent written English language skills. • Strong relationship management skills and personally confident to effectively address and influence stakeholders; • Delivery focused individual with the ability to work in a self-sufficient manner; • Ability to build strong working relationships/networks with all stakeholders and maintain a high degree of integrity; • Strong planning, organising and administrative skills ARCADIS is the leading global natural and built asset design & consultancy firm working in partnership with our clients to deliver exceptional and sustainable outcomes through the application of design, consultancy, engineering, project and management services.
