Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE) is responsible for the development and operations of Al-Futtaim’s real estate businesses across the Middle East and North Africa which includes:Dubai Festival City, a 520 hectare waterfront mixed use community, opened in 2005.Cairo Festival City, a 290 hectare mixed use development, opened in DeceMDer 2013. .Doha Festival City, comprising 433,847 sq m (land) + 250,000 sq m (GLA), IKEA opened in March 2013.

Al-Futtaim Real Estate
Al-Futtaim Real Estate offers comprehensive services from selection of site and feasibility studies to construction and property management. The range of properties administered and leased in the UAE includes warehouses, showrooms, workshops, offices, villas and apartment buildings. Al Futtaim's warehousing complex at Rashidia in Dubai, measuring over one million square feet, is by far the largest owned by any company in the Gulf. This is used as a central warehouse for the group, stocking vast quantities of electronic goods, automobiles, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment and inventories of spare parts. The company also has some 200,000 square feet of showroom space and 600,000 square feet of workshops in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. Among the largest of these are the showrooms of Al Futtaim Panatech and Al Futtaim Motors in Dubai.
Residential properties in Dubai owned by Al Futtaim Real Estate, include some 900 apartments and villas like Al Garhoud, Safa village and Al Hamriya Villa Compounds, Dar Al Muteena, Dar Al Buteen, Dar Al Buteen II, Dar Al Khabeesi, and Dar Al Muragabat. These properties are characterised by a high standard of accommodation and leisure facilities. In keeping with the economic growth of the United Arab Emirates and Dubai, it is envisaged that Al-Futtaim Real Estate will concentrate its efforts and resources towards the development of prestigious real estate complexes to supplement the growing demand for commercial and residential properties. On completion, Doha Festival City (DHFC) Mall will be Qatar's largest retail and leisure destination. It will feature the Doha Festival City Mall, as well as a 5 star hotel and a convention centre.
Reporting into the Development Director, the Senior Development Manager will assist execute the ongoing construction project so the mall becomes the strongest in the local market, secures future sustainable sales and income growth whilst maximising the customer experience.
The main of the objective of the role will be to successfully manage and deliver the shopping mall project through the construction phase to handover of the operations to the mall management team. This will include overseeing the consultant team, led by Mace PM to deliver all construction activities including cost and claim control, schedule management and interfacing with both internal and external consultants.
Key Duties Will Include:A
A. Construction Management
Supporting the wider Project Team in managing and executing the construction-related parts of the project within time, budgetary and design specific constraints
Ensuring the successful completion of construction related activities including architectural, civil/structural and MEP works
Leading the construction inspection and providing oversight to correctly evaluate contractor construction methodology, project quality plans, safety plans, schedules and compliance with contractual requirements
Reviewing construction progress presented by the contractors and commenting on areas of non-compliance, areas of concern and corrective actions
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Plans, and regulatory requirements applicable to the Project. Resolving any relevant issues and assisting in the development and implementation of required corrective actions
B. Stakeholder ManagementA
Managing and facilitating communication with key project team members and internal stakeholder and business units including Retail, Leasing, Marketing and Mall Management to ensure the smooth development and execution of the project
Managing and interfacing with external stakeholder relationships such as regional and local authorities, and governmental agencies
Coordinating, communicating and leading consultancies and contractors to motivateA the team to fulfil the project on time and within budgetA
C. Project ControlA
Monitoring progress against projects dates and required deliverablesA
D. Project Delivery
Working alongside the tenant coordination team to open all tenants by the grand opening date
Project close-out and transferring all documents to the mall management operations team A
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Architectural, Construction or Civil Engineering related degree or recognised professional qualifications from an accredited institution
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 10 years minimum experience handling high valued developments in increasingly senior property development management roles
Current or recent experience in the successful delivery of Retail Shopping Mall projects particularly during on the construction phaseA of the project
Proven success working within a leading property development, consultancy or construction management firm that works to international standards
