Job Purpose Develops vision, strategy, and objectives for quality and method of manufacturing improvements Plans and directs the overall Quality program for the factory, aiming to get timely AS 9100 certification. Establishes quality policies and procedures to ensure successfully the Transfer of Technology program in conformity with customer requirements. Ensures that quality tools and procedures are developed and applied consistently across the organization. Interfaces with customers and suppliers as needed. Report to CEO and COO. Responsibilities To define and achieve validation steps in the manufacturing Transfer Of Technology program, in particular: On special processes: TIG welding, composites, NDT On approved personnel: welders, NDT inspectors On First Article execution and inspection To direct AS 9100, NADCAP, and other quality compliance certifications required by customers and/or government agencies, and leads and participates in compliance audits. To manage Quality Audit Program including external and internal audits, corrective actions and follow up. To develop, review, approve customer QIPs (Quality Improvement Plan). To develop and drive Quality Performance Indicators. To define and drive quality metrics, develop projects to reduce cost of quality through improved processes, root cause analysis To develop and maintain data records and analysis tools to support improvements. To participate in RFQ and purchase order review processes. To interface with the Supply Chain department on supplier related issues. To interface with customer for processing concession/deviation requests. To define and drive laboratory requirements To define and drive calibration requirements (on machines, gages, tools, test means) To define validation steps in the Technology improvement programs (Lean, Titanium, Autoweld) To maintain good customer communication and relationships; strive to meet or exceed customer satisfaction expectations Experience At least 5 years relevant experience in QA/QC, leadership experience in quality department within a manufacturing environment. Proven success in Six Sigma and other Lean improvement disciplines with ability to design robust processes. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Solid analytical skills to achieve effective solutions, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to solve practical job related problems. Other skills required are: Excellent interpersonal and people management skills. Analytical mind to identify errors and inconsistencies in the manufacturing processes that lead to variances in production volumes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and managerial skills Good computer literacy to use production control systems and standard office automation tools Global Engineering Projects is a completely reengineered recruitment company.
