The Planning Engineer will have good communication and influencing skills and the ability to co- ordinate diverging priorities and teams resulting in a comprehensive agreed plan which adheres to regulatory and HSE protocols. The Planning Engineer will have a good understanding of programming and scheduling and be proficient in relevant software packages. Job Purpose To support aligned business area(s) in the achievement of their annual business objectives and also the development of their longer term business strategies. Key Responsibilities • Developing and preparing Tender Plans, Pre-construction programs / Labor Histograms . • Develop Baseline Program including EPS, OBS, WBS, Phasing / Zoning Strategy Plan and Key Dates/ Milestones, of the project assuring that the Program is fulfilling all the contractual requirements. • Detailed Planning & scheduling for various stages of the projects that involved works related to various disciplines such as Contracts, Engineering ,Procurement and Construction( Fit out Works). • Assigning Recourses to the project, monitoring the resources allocation and taking actions if there are any conflicts or peaks. • Developing Cost Breakdown Structure and produce the project cash flow, making sure that the project is always within the budget / Cost control. • Proactively monitoring the overall Work progress & Contractors Performance. • Review the progress status reports of all the contractors on board. • Preparation and updating of S-Curves, Resources Histogram and monthly Cash Flow. • Responsible for supporting the Planning Manager, highlighting the areas of concerns, Issues or order to take corrective actions and implementing the preventive actions in order to avoid similar issues in the future. • Review of major scope changes, ensuring that any impact on time is assessed. • Responsible for assessing time extension requests and provide recommendations against the same. • Travel to the Abu Dhabi site offices for visiting the projects / updating the progress when its needed • Prepare and issue monthly reports of project progress. • Update & Monitor the overall Baseline Schedule & Key Dates. • Managing the program’s Resources Histograms, monitoring the progress against Planned Figures and realized benefits as the program progresses. Essential Skills • Computer Literate with the Following Softwares : Primavera P6 , MS Project , MS Office and Power Point • Regular Travel to Abu Dhabi • Holder of a valid UAE driving license • Background in Construction / Fit out Works Personal Attributes • Preference for action – self-starter with the personal drive and motivation to proactively identify issues, progress activities and deliver business focused solutions. Strong work ethic, highly motivated and focused with a challenging intellect. Enthusiastic and committed to personal and divisional success. Proactive, diligent, able and willing to think ahead • Customer and Service Orientation – A ‘hands-on, can-do’ attitude is essential, plus the jobholder needs to be focused on delivering quality services/solutions. • Communication skills – Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate positively and effectively to ensure that effective relationships are developed and accurate, timely information can be obtained as required. Excellent command of both written and spoken English • Written skills – good writing skills to produce clear analysis and reports with High level of attention to detail • Planning and Organisation – Strong Planning and cost control skills required to ensure all tasks and objectives are self-managed and delivered on a timely basis the targeted Budget according to the priority levels agreed with the business and Planning Manager and system are implemented and best practice is followed. • Professional knowledge and Analytical thinking – Strong, rationale thinking with a challenging, questioning mind that can view issues as a whole as well as drill down into the final detail. the targeted Budget according to the priority levels agreed with the business and Planning Manager. • Team Orientation – Ability to work as a team member under pressure to deliver objectives on time. Good team leader and “people manager”. Effective and flexible team member who is a decision maker and good delegator. Education & Training • Degree Educated in Architecture, Civil Engineering or equivalent or other similar qualifications • Membership of professional body preferred • 8 or more years of industry relevant working experience • Computer literate - Microsoft Office • 5 years + experience Note: The general responsibilities listed herein above are not exhaustive and as such additional duties, which are related to this position in the Company, may be added on the above list as and when it deems necessary.
