OBJECTIVES:
ADPI Bahrain has been entrusted with the mission of work supervision for the construction of the new terminal (and annex buildings) of the Bahrain Airport.
The project currently under construction, comprises a terminal of 220,000 m2, a parking of 100,000 m2, a SuperGate building, a new Fire Station, with the associated airplane areas and taxiways.
The role of resident Engineer BHS-PLB consists of managing and supervising the companies in charge of these works, on all the technical, contractual, financial and operational aspects which are connected with the successful project execution.
The role is based in Manama, at the ADPI Bahrain branch.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Depending of the size of the project the BHS/PLB Resident Engineer his supported by a team of Discipline Engineer and Supervisor to supervise the Contractor’s Design and Realisation. This staff can be constituted of ADPI’s employees expatriated for the duration of the project and/or employees recruited locally by ADPi for the duration of the project. In such a case, the BHS/PLB Resident Engineer:
? Manage the complete staff put under his responsibility.
? Proceed, under the Resident Manager supervision.
• To define within his technical field the tasks to be locally subcontracted as necessary, to contribute to the Sub-contractors selection and to supervise their performances.
• To assist the Employer in the selection of the Contractor(s) in charge of the realization.
• To supervise the Contractors’ design, to review, comment and approve drawings and documents to be submitted by the same as per their contractual obligations.
• To supervise on site the erection works by the Contractors, to organise the Snags List and follow-up.
• To ensure the co-ordination with the Resident Engineers for the other packages to avoid any possible interference, make sure that all requested interfaces from others are available and the BHS/PLB is perfectly integrated within the overall project.
• To check the installations erected against the Contractors’ contractual obligations and documents and drawings previously submitted.
• To supervise the Factory Inspections and Tests
• To supervise the testing and commissioning activities of the Contractors on site until obtaining the guaranteed performances.
• To address all changes requested by the employer and prepare any relevant documentation to enable the Contractors to perform said change.
• To address all contractors’ claim and submit Engineer’s recommendation to the Employer.
INTERACTIONS:
He/she reports to the Project Director in charge of supervision. - Higher education degree (Engineering, Bachelor or Master) with a minimum of 15 years of experience, out of which 10 years in airport projects experience;
- Good knowledge of technical specifications and overseas construction projects experience is mandatory ;
- Organized, rigorous and efficient

- Autonomous ;
- Fluency in English (including technical) is mandatory ;
