Job Purpose
Responsible to maintain the computer systems and networks of QPM. To install and configure computer systems. To diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical problems.
Responsibilities and Major Activities
1. IT Planning and Strategy
o Plan, coordinate, and schedule investigations, feasibility studies, and evaluation of proposed and existing QPM data processing system and machine applications
o Design and implement integrated hardware and software computer and information systems to meet QPM requirements
o Participate in budget planning, implementation, and monitoring for purchase and maintenance of hardware and software
o Provide integrated computer technical support for research and development initiatives and new technologies
o Analyze user proposals, identify proposal enhancements, recommend optimum approach and develop implementation plans
o Assist the IT Support Services Manager in reviewing, evaluating, and recommending solutions for hardware and software acquisitions
o Assist the IT Support Services Manager on IT professional development activities as appropriate
2. Installation
o Assist the Network Administrator and the Technical Support to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Microsoft/Novell networks, UNIX workstations, file servers, and other related equipment, devices, and systems
o Follow test plans and simulate the end-user experience for new business solutions systems
?3. Troubleshooting
o Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex hardware problems on QPM computer systems
o Perform advanced hardware repairs, maintenance, technical assistance, and support on a wide range of PC-based computers and peripherals
o Analyze and resolve problems on complex computer applications and systems
o Review, prioritize, and process problem reports; documents the progress of projects
4. User training and ?support
o Assist the IT team in providing individual and/or group instruction and training on computer technologies to QPM staff
o Assist QPM Managers on technology projects of large scope and broad organizational impact, directing and integrating the work of other staff
o Train, supervise, and/or provide functional direction to Technical Support staff, as appropriate to the objectives of the position or project
o Guide users in the formulation of technical and information requirements, and advise on the implications of alternative technologies
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or its equivalent with minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.
Functional:
o Extensive experience of Microsoft 2010/13, Supporting LAN/WAN, TCP/IP network infrastructure
o Ability to design, develop, and implement integrated hardware and software solutions, provide technical ?guidance to users, develop/write systems and applications guides for users ?
o Understanding of Information Security Management?
o Understanding of local and international laws governing Information ?Technology.?
