The MEP Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with contract requirements on electrical and mechanical work carried out by the contractor. Responsibilities: - To review and approve contractor submittals, resolve technical issues arising and ensure compliance with contract requirements. - Carry out inspection of works in progress - Ensure contractor compliance with contract specifications and approved shop drawings - Assist Site Resident Engineer with review of shop drawing and material submittals. - Monitor and report contractor progress and all activities - Technical degree either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering - Minimum of 7 years experience in electrical or mechanical engineering - Highway/Roads project experience would be advantageous - Previous site inspection experience - Understanding of British, American and International design standards. - Working knowledge of ICAO standards would be a distinct benefit. - Good communication skills in written and spoken English essential - Computer literacy is essential Behavioural Competencies - Must have integrity, be flexible and proactive - Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team - Good team player, able to communicate effectively with colleagues Atkins is one of the leading providers of professional, technology based consultancy and support services to the industry, commerce and governments in all of the worlds major economies.
