Currently seating as one of Africa’s leading digital media businesses, our client is a thought leader in driving the growth of digital in Africa and they are looking for a business executive to oversee the sales and business development functions in mobile advertising, as well as the day-to-day business operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Relationship Management/Customer Retention
• Develop relationship with partners across the digital sphere :digital advertising, mobile advertising agencies, as well as traditional agencies
• Manage Mobile Advertising products and processes with the objective to optimize revenue/ROI, protect customer privacy, and increase the value of the Mobile Advertising in the West and East Africa advertising scene.
• Manage the customer experience of company customers to maximize value perception and satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities in current customer interaction and usage and work with technical teams to modify, enhance, or replace relevant platforms to make such interaction or usage advertising-capable wherever possible.
• Identifying, creatively structure, and negotiate complex strategic partnerships with a wide array of partners across the business units.
• Drive recommendations and build consensus with multiple key internal and external stakeholders.
Marketing Strategies
• Draw up strategies that would make the daily activities of each align with the overall strategic plan of the company Business unit and ensuring profitability across units.
• Seek strategic and operational improvement opportunities from a wide variety of sources including Market, Strategy, Planning and Segment Marketing.
Corporate image/Publicity
• Responsible for brand equity and marketing for the company in Nigeria and Across West Africa.
• Work with advertising industry stakeholders to promote company Mobile Advertising value among all the value chain players and to continuously strengthen the position of Mobile Advertising.
• Maintains effective external interfaces with business and technology partners, government agencies and commercial /professional bodies.
• Scout for partners, select ones with relevant expertise and/or technologies to expand the Mobile Advertising products portfolio, and manage the relationship with those partners.
Revenue generation/market expansion
• Responsible for revenue with targets in Nigeria and Other West African Countries.
• Ensuring the activity framework of revenue stream managers are in alignment with the budget plans of the business.
• Regularly measure/analyze productivity and effectiveness, form strategic product road maps, create market positioning and competitive advantages.
• Determine budget trade-offs with a goal of continually improving and developing sustainable results
• Assists with Group Business Development across the Business
• Developing new business relationships, including educating clients on Mobile offerings and product suites, increasing revenue from existing client relationships.
• Growing initially revenue from the Digital ecosystem with forecast of growth into other regions
Budgeting/Sales and Marketing forecast and Development
• Makes sales pitch and presentations to digital agencies, brand managers and other Group Business.
• Design all company Mobile Advertising products, within 2 categories: Targeting products and Inventory products, and manage all the product life cycle for it.
• Establish the business processes related to the operational aspects of Mobile Advertising.
• Establish all advertising industry standards and regulatory policies into the products design and business processes for Mobile Advertising.
• Monitor and analyze products performance trends from financial, competitive and operational perspectives. Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field in an accredited university,
• A related Post graduate degree/Certification
• Good negotiation/deal closing skills
• Entrepreneurial ability to manage the affairs of the Unit.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• Creative approach to up-selling to an existing client base and generating new business
Relevant Experience
• At least 5 years within the Digital and/or Mobile advertising space with at least 3 years in a leadership role with a team.
• A good understanding of Ad inventory technology, i.e. RTB, Programmatic solutions (Desired but not essential)
• A self-starter and someone that can work autonomously, and close deals.
• Experience managing sales teams and implementing strategies for these teams
• Advanced Knowledge of the Digital Ecosystem and Mobile Advertising
• Strong agency relationships
• Demonstrated leadership skills in project planning and management of key internal and external stakeholders/vendors.
