Performs general clerical duties (e.g., registers patients; obtains insurance authorization; types flashcards for X-Ray film; schedules patients; processes encounter forms; answers telephone; directs calls; provides routine information). Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images. Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis. Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques. Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure; regulates the length and intensity of film exposure. Positions and restrains patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographed Implements infection control procedures for the work area. Checks X-rays for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed. Process exposed cassetts using processing devices (CR System or processor) to obtain the images. Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment. Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department Assisting in more complex radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and senior staff Protects patient and other personnel from radiation hazards. Radiographers must follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their coworkers from unnecessary exposure. Working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients Actively involve in the quality improvement activities of the department. Performs diagnostic sonograms (according to the Competency Checklists proficiency) . Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the patient confidentiality. Understanding and observing health and safety at work. Providing support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs. Participate in the Rota of the Department. May have to do shift work to cover emergency calls. Performs other duties as assigned. Take reasonable care of their own health and safety; Take reasonable care of the health and safety of persons and the enviornment that may be affected by their acts or omissions at work; Cooperate with Hospital Management with respect to any action taken by the ANH management to comply with EHSMS requirements. Report to your immediate supervisor any situation which they have reason to belive could present a hazard and which they cannot themselves correct; Report all EHS incidents and work-related injuries; and notify supervisor or department safety representative/coordinator of any hazards, mishaps or incident reporting procedure. Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misure anything provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of environment Familiarize themselves with all EHSMS policies, standards and procedures that are relevant for their workplace and ensure compliance with all its requirements Attend applicable departmental safety training and follow EHSMS policies and procedures. Readly available and reachable by phone even not on duty.
