* Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management, the Investment Advisor will provide independent opinion on the quality of client’s investment portfolio and be responsible for advising HNI/UHNI clients on investments. The Investment Advisor will establish and access client’s risk appetite, return objectives, investment preference, advise clients and monitor their portfolios’ on a regular basis. The investment advisor will be involved in pitching new investment mandates or updating clients on their existing investment portfolios.
The investment advisor will aid in ensuring trade ideas, investment recommendations and products are suitable and appropriate for individual client portfolios. This role entails researching, analysing and appraising investment opportunities across asset classes and geographies through comprehensive quantitative, qualitative, and other relevant methods and criteria from a buy-side perspective.
The investment advisor will directly support a team of relationship managers/ private bankers in advising client on their investment portfolios’. The client’s investment portfolio may be managed on a discretionary basis or on advisory basis. Initially, the investment advisor will also assist in the management of discretionary mandates which will involve analysis, trading, execution, preparing internal and external client reports.

* Main Tasks & Responsibilities :

• Provide independent opinion on the quality of client’s investment portfolio and be responsible for advising HNI/UHNI clients on investments
• Aid in ensuring trade ideas, investment recommendations and products are suitable and appropriate for individual client portfolios
• Directly support a team of relationship managers/ private bankers in advising client on their investment portfolios
• Conduct in-depth fundamental research and analysis of investments across global asset-classes, emerging investment themes including:
o Thorough analysis of economic/ financial reports and other information with an eye towards identifying hidden investment risks.
o Analysis of the valuations of securities, sectors, and markets
o Assess and quantify risks facing individual company, sectors and country, markets in the portfolios
o Produce timely investment ideas and concise summary reports and presentations. Find creative ways to explain her/his investment thesis succinctly and presenting these to the RMs and Clients
o Monitoring of financial news using specialist media sources and reporting developments to the head of portfolio management.
o Keep abreast of economic and market movements and news affecting investments, including writing periodical investment/ market update commentaries/ reports
o Monitor individual securities, model portfolios/ strategies, client portfolios on a daily basis. Interpret developments that may impact share price performance on a longer-term basis
o Updating the head of portfolio management on a daily basis on anything that materially impacts area of coverage. Due to small team size, this may include collection and analysis of data on a variety of asset classes, economies, sectors, companies and their customers, suppliers, competitors, regulatory changes, etc.
o Keep abreast of sell-side research and views on stocks, sectors and markets. Contribute positively to the development of in-house investment views and identifying investment themes.
o Building and maintaining a database of in-depth financial models, portfolio models, performance reports.
o Responsible for generating investment ideas across asset classes and geographies.
o Presenting investment strategies to relationship managers and/ or clients in the context of discretionary or advisory portfolio management
o Contribute to developing and maintaining a robust investment research and portfolio management process.
o Create and maintain documentation of investment recommendation, model portfolios, projects, process, products and data, building a resourceful database
• Expected to prepare and refine a variety of quantitative analyses
• Provide thematic views and strategies in the context of global multi-asset investment strategy
• Monitor news or developments relating to underlying portfolio investments on a daily basis
• Participating in weekly team meetings, presenting ideas/views/risks on investments covered
• Working closely with the head of portfolio management, the investment advisor will identify investment opportunities and manage the various process involved in client’s advisory portfolio management.
• Preparation and presentation of ADCB investment portfolios, strategies and themes to potential and existing clients and RM’s. Updating clients and RMs on a regular basis or as requested.
* Occasional Duties :
• Tasked periodically with special projects and special situations for quick, time pressured and in-depth analysis on transactions supporting the client’s investment portfolios.
• Expected to provide research input for all investments strategies & research.
• Provide and coordinate information and reporting as requested by the Head of Portfolio Management and the Chief Investment Officer.
• Back-up support to Head of Portfolio Management, conducting trading and implementation for the investment portfolios managed by ADCB * Minimum Education level required:
Bachelor/ Masters degree from a top rated institution in a related quantitative subject such as finance, economics or similar.
* Professional Qualifications:
Holds an internationally a recognized professional qualification (CFA preferred)
* Work Experience:
At least 5 years experience as a buy side/ sell side analyst or as an investment advisor in a recognised private bank.

A very good knowledge of written and spoken English is required.
An excellent command of MS Office is requried.
Familiarity with financial software/systems such as Bloomberg/Reuters.
