In Yemen, the IRC is implementing an integrated WASH, Health, Nutrition and Reproductive Health emergency program. The IRC is seeking a dynamic and experienced team of health professionals to provide technical support to emergency programs implemented in Abyan. The position in based in Abyan with travel to field sites. Title: Medical Assistant Duty Station: Abyan (Mudyiah, Lawder) Start date: 1 November 2013 Duration: Eight (8) months with possibility of extension SCOPE OF THE WORK: The Medical Assistant (M/A) will be responsible for provide treatment and submitting report. Supervisors: Team Leader. RESPONSIBILITIES: The post holder will be responsible for providing curative and preventative health care, refer patients to a higher level of care when necessary. • Apply technical knowledge and skills to implement and/or assist in community delivery of program activities • Provide quality treatment of patients according to the local and international protocols. • Adhere strictly to the universal precaution to prevent the spread of the disease in the treatment centre. • To ensure timely submission of daily/weekly reports to the health information officer and the health coordinator. • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Health Coordinator REQUIREMENT: • Diploma/ medical assistant /Registered Nurse • Minimum three years professional experience in hospital settings • INGO experience preferred • Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well. • Fluency in English preferred APPLLICATION PROCESS For all positions, applicants should send a CV and covering letter, both in English, to [email protected] with the title of the position you are applying for in the title of the email.
